Samantha smiled and asked Oliver slowly if he had any daughters, hoping to glean some insight into whether or not he still harbored feelings for the daughter he had lost when she was young.
Oliver deliberated for a while. And he answered that he only had one daughter, but she would be the next CEO. Then, while talking, he got a call from Teressa saying she needed to talk to him.
After a brief conversation, Oliver ended the call, explaining that he had to rush home and suggesting they meet the following day.
Samantha chuckled awkwardly as she realized she had been wrong to expect a loving family to welcome her as one of their own once they learned the truth.
