“Mom how long??”we have been traveling for like 6 hours now”
“Just another hour to go Sher”
The scenery changed from buildings to open road and then to trees and a lot of foliage .it was all really beautiful and the air seemed pure
“well that’s certainly refreshing “ she thought
After an hour more they reached a town named Crescent vale.
It was a pretty place with a lot of greenery and trees. She could see a massive forest in the distance as well.
The town was not very small but it was not very big either. It had everything she could hope for , a huge shopping mall, movie theatre, fast food restaurants, library....
It looks like the only thing she will be missing from her old home would-be her friends
The library looked huge. She definitely needs to visit As soon as possible she thought happily.
If there was one thing Scheherazade couldn’t live without it was books.
She was a huge fan of Agatha Christie.
She saw a grey complex of buildings in the distance with green rooftops. Her mom told her it was her new school. She sighed thankful that it was Friday and she still has two days to prepare before she went to school.
It wasn’t that she didn’t enjoy learning but starting a new school at the start of her senior year would be awkward.
They reached the house after 10 minutes. she had seen few other houses like this in the vicinity while passing.
“It’s certainly something”. She thought as looked at the huge white Victorian style house.
It was pearl white with a prim little lawn upfront and the backyard opened into the woods.
“wow that’s pretty dad” she said.
Her father smiled and nodded greatfully.
“Thanks hone, why don’t you go and see your room.its already furnished”
She skipped happily as she entered the house. The living room was big with a marble countertop .on the other side of it was a neat little kitchen . The living room had stairs that lead up to the bedrooms. There were four in number with one master bed room for her parents
She went to the room at the end.
It was not as big as master bed room but it was quite big with a window that opened into the backyard
The wallpaper was light purple with patterns and windows were painted white
She also had an attached bathroom and a walk in closet. The room was already furnished with a queen size bed in the middle and a flat screen TV right in front of it. The dresser stood opposite to the window. And curtains on the window were dark shade of purple along with a soft carpet of the same shade.
Purple was her favourite colour
“Perfect” she thought.
She went down stairs to tell her parents that she loved her room.
“Oh good. Now the movers will be here tomorrow so you have time to rest today “now freshen up while i order some pizza from the place I saw on the way”
Her mom said.
“ok mom” she replied as she went upstairs to her room.
The bathroom was all a palest of pink and it also had a bathtub unlike her old house that just had a shower. She filled the tub with warm water and got in after taking of her clothes
She loved the feeling of silky warm water On her tired body and stayed in the tub for about an hour
When her fingers were wrinkled from the water she got out and made her way into her room and into her walk in closet. Most of her clothes would be arriving tomorrow but she a little suit case that she brought up earlier that had few of her favourites t shirts and jeans.
She threw on her favourite comfortable black t shirt and jeans and made her way downstairs
The pizza had arrived and her mom and dad were sitting on the table eating while discussing something in low voices
“hey hone come grab a slice”said mom
“mmmmmmmm” the pizza was delicious.so full of cheese and tomatoe goodness.
“Honestly I had not expected this place to be this good “ she thought to her self.
Her parents were looking relieved now that she was making herself at home.
The sun had long gone down and the night was upon them. Suddenly she heard a howl in the distance, of a wolf. She looked up startled and saw her mom was also looking worried and her dad’s shoulders have tensed up.
“yeah there are a few packs of wolves in the woods and mountains”he said.
“How ever I have been told not to worry about them. They never bother humans”
Her mom looked relieved
“However I must ask you two to never go deep into the forest alone”
“Why on earth would I ever have the need to go into the forest and that too alone dad. And You know I hate camping”
She laughed.
He dad relaxed and cracked a smile.
“well then off to bed. We will have plenty to do tomorrow and if you finish early ,you can go into the town and explore a bit”
She went upstairs to her bed room. Thankfully the house had excellent internet connection.
She called up her Friends in a group call and told them all about the place, the scenery the house and even the eerie wolf howls.
Her Friends were thrilled to hear all this.
She turned off the phone promising to call them soon again
Soon she was laying down on bed as sleep took her over.
