Chapter 13

661 Words
Ava walked into Ethan's study, her eyes locked on his. Don Giovanni sat behind the desk, a calculating glint in his eye. "Sir, I need to access some documents," Ava said, her voice cold and detached, addressing Ethan. Ethan's gaze met hers, his expression unreadable. "What kind of documents?" he asked, his tone icy. Don Giovanni's eyes narrowed, his interest piqued. "Yes, Ava, what kind of documents do you need?" he asked, his voice dripping with menace. Ava's hatred for them both simmered just below the surface. She forced herself to remain calm, to play the role of the dutiful employee. "Just some files related to the company's finances, sir," she replied, her voice steady, looking at Ethan. Ethan's eyes flicked to his father, then back to Ava. "Very well, Ava. You have permission to access the documents," he said, his tone firm. Don Giovanni's eyes seemed to bore into Ava's soul, as if searching for any sign of deception. Ava felt a shiver run down her spine, but she kept her emotions in check. "Thank you, sir," she said, her voice curt, nodding to Ethan. As she left the study, Ava felt a sense of relief wash over her. She had gotten what she needed. She made her way back to her room, her mind racing with possibilities. She knew she had to act fast. The next day, Ava took a flight to her hometown, determined to uncover more evidence. She arrived at her father's old office, her heart heavy with memories. Ava spent hours poring over documents, her eyes scanning the pages with a fierce intensity. And then, she found it - evidence of Don Giovanni's wrongdoing, and possibly even Ethan's involvement. Ava's hatred for them both boiled over, her anger and resentment burning bright. She knew she had to get out of there, fast. She quickly gathered the evidence and made her way to the airport, determined to bring Don Giovanni and Ethan down. As Ava walked through the airport terminal, she suddenly collided with a familiar face - Mr. Jenkins, a close friend of her father's. "Mr. Jenkins! Oh, I'm so sorry," Ava exclaimed, her eyes widening in surprise. Mr. Jenkins smiled warmly, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Ava, dear! It's great to see you. What brings you here?" Ava hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. "Just heading back home, Mr. Jenkins. I was visiting some family friends," she said, trying to sound nonchalant. Mr. Jenkins nodded sympathetically. "I see. Well, it was good running into you, Ava. Take care, okay?" Ava nodded, feeling a pang of nostalgia. Mr. Jenkins had always been kind to her, and she valued his friendship with her father. As they parted ways, Ava couldn't help but wonder what Mr. Jenkins would think if he knew about her current situation. She pushed the thought aside, focusing on her mission to bring Don Giovanni and Ethan down. Hour's later Ava arrived at HQ and met with her handler, which was also her best friend "Hey, Ava! Great job on gathering evidence," Emily said, reviewing the documents. "But we need more. We want you to get closer to Ethan, gather more intel, and bring them down." Ava nodded, understanding the risks. Emily continued, "Why don't you play the seductress? Make them believe you're interested in them, and gather as much information as possible. We need concrete evidence to take them down." Ava raised an eyebrow, considering the plan. "I'll do whatever it takes to bring them down, Emily. But I need to be careful. They're not people to mess with." Emily nodded in agreement. "I know, Ava. But I have faith in you. You're one of the best in the business. Just be careful and stay focused on the mission." “and remember time is ticking ” With that, Ava set out to execute the plan, using her charm and wit to gather more evidence and bring Don Giovanni and Ethan to justice.
