Ava stepped into the parlor, her eyes scanning the room until they landed on Ethan. He sat elegantly, sipping a glass of wine, his features illuminated by the soft glow of the lamps. For a moment, she felt a pang of admiration for his refined features and poised demeanor. However, it was quickly replaced by a wave of disgust as she remembered the truth about him and his father. Her thoughts flashed back to the documents she had uncovered in her father's office. The evidence was damning, revealing a trail of deceit and manipulation that went all the way to the top. Ethan's charm and charisma, once captivating, now seemed like a facade, a tool to further his family's interests. As she approached him, Ethan looked up, his eyes locking onto hers. "Welcome back," he said, his voice smooth as silk. "I see you're right on time." he said sarcastically Ava's gaze narrowed. " Any problem sir ," she replied, her tone icy. "I gave you 24 hours, and you are 2 hours late. " Ethan sneered His expression remained calm, but a hint of irritation flickered in his eyes. "do you think money grows on trees ," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Ava's anger simmered just below the surface. She knew she had to tread carefully, to play the role of the dutiful employee, all while secretly plotting her revenge. "I'm Sorry sir" she said, her voice neutral. As she turned to leave, Ethan's words stopped her. "Ava, don't forget what I told you. Loyalty is key in our organization. I'd hate for you to forget that." Ava's smile was cold, calculated. "I haven't forgotten," she said, her eyes flashing with determination. She would play along, pretend to be the loyal employee, all while secretly working to bring Ethan and his father down. The game had begun, and she was ready to play. Ava returned to her room, exhausted but relieved. Her mind drifting of to Ethan, and how his character totally changed after their beach vacation. She push all her thoughts out determined to have good night's sleep, recharging for the challenges ahead. The next day, she headed to Ethan's company, ready to face whatever lay ahead. As she settled into the office, her phone buzzed with news: Ethan's company was collaborating with Max's, and they were hosting a gala to celebrate the partnership. The invitation flashed on her screen: "Join us this evening for a grand ball." Ava's eyes narrowed. What did this mean for her situation with Ethan? She wondered if this partnership would change the dynamics of their relationship. With a deep breath, she prepared herself for the evening's events, unsure what lay in store.
