Elizabeth’s POV
"Elizabeth! You're finally back!" As soon as I return to the base, Lucy rushes toward me with wide eyes and a huge smile, squealing as she wraps me in a hug so tight that it sends us both tumbling to the ground.
We laugh together as Lucy bombards me with questions. "Where on earth have you been? Why are you so late? I was worried sick, thinking something terrible happened," Lucy says, her eyes reflecting both relief and joy.
"If you’re truly concerned about her well-being, then avoid squashing her," Echo teases, gently pulling Lucy off me but grinning widely.
I chuckle heartily, feeling the warmth of home and the familiar banter that I have missed so much.
