Elizabeth’s POV
As soon as we cross the border, a shadow swoops down from above. Echo moves out of the way just in time, but I'm not as quick and end up on the ground.
“Elizabeth, Echo!” Taylor calls out excitedly. “You’re finally back!”
“Wow, what a welcome,” Echo chuckles as she helps me up.
“Is everyone so eager to knock me over?” I grumble, taking Echo’s hand to get to my feet. “Last time, Lucy tackled me just like that.”
“Maybe it's because you're too skinny,” Taylor giggles, looking me over. “You really need to eat more, Elizabeth. You’re thinner than ever.”
“Believe me, I’d love to,” I reply, rolling my eyes. “There wasn’t much to eat out there. My best meal was in the brothel at White City.”
