A heavy silence descends, as if the room itself is holding its breath.
This ultimatum—the one I feared most—hangs in the air, heavy and unyielding. Edward and I lock eyes, a fierce and silent understanding passing between us. He shakes his head slightly, telling me to stay out of it and let them handle this precarious situation.
Minutes stretch like hours until Noah finally breaks the tension. “Is there any room for negotiation?” he asks.
“Absolutely not,” Alpha Robins replies firmly.
