Samuel stepped into the shower. The cold fog had seeped through his clothes to leave his skin damp after being out on the grounds. Favour and Kate had drifted back to the ballroom to relax while Sandra and I were talking over a hot coffee.
He stood under the shower as he tried getting the last minuted events from his mind. He turned on the shower as jets of hot water pummeled his skin. It flooded through his hair to chase away the chill left by what Drayne said. Oh, this felt damn good. So good. He loved the hot water. As if new life has been added to him. His body relaxed as the scent of the soap filled his nostrils. He loved Egypt and everything about it. If truly Drayne's experience was real, he then knew the house was haunted. As he turned the shower off, he stepped into his room as he wrapped the towel around his waist, checking himself out in the mirror.
Then something happened. In the mirror his reflection smiled while he wasn't. He tried to think its just his illusion, when his reflection began to talk.
"Hey dummy"
"I ain't a dummy"
"Yes, you're. Your friend told you something and you didn't believe him, thinking he's all crazy."
"Yes, he is really crazy"
"You think so right? Well welcome to your doom"
That was the last word Samuel ever heard in his life as the mirror shattered into pieces. A piece of glass pierced into his eyes as blood rushed out of his eyes. He then tried to shout but a hand was holding his neck taking out the air from his lungs.
"Helppp!!"" The words flew out of his mouth as blood rushed out, killing him.
The Ballroom
Favour and Kate heard someone calling out for help, but they thought it was a trick so they let it lie. The lights flickered as Kate's heart began to race. She grabbed Favour by the hand and they both ran away from the room.
This devilish house lived watching young people move around inside it. Its stones enjoy the spectacle of its iccupants aging. Time is its weapon. Hours its bullets. The mummies its bombs.
Unchanging, immobile, the house watches as silver begins to salt dark hair; wrinkles form around eyes. Immune to the corrosive power of age, the house sees its occupants change and decay. In seemingly no time at all, young lovers with flashing smiles become shuffling hunched things.
The house was immune. Samuel was dead and gone. Forever. Tears trickled down everyone's eye as they were speechless. Sandra grabbed his dead body and wailed. Nothing could ever bring him back now. Nothing. Kate and Drayne then carried his dead body to the back of the house, as they planned on going back to their place in two days in order to get him buried.
Water sounds. Like dozens of sucking mouths. A slurping noise. Kate kept her eyes closed. The mummies were finally having fun. Sarla and her Father were rejoicing for the first soul they won. Kate tried to take it all as a dream until water dropped on her. At first, she thought it was just a leaking roof but as she opened her eyes and looked up, dozens of water poured on her getting her hair wet. She then got up from the bed quickly, she went to the shower stall to check if she was really dreaming. As she turned the hand of the door, water poured out damping the rug in the room. "Maybe, I did the tap is running" she thought as she walked inside when suddenly the door closed. "Baaam!!" the door closed hard as she tried opening it all to no avail. She banged hard as water began to fill everywhere. The water rose high, reaching her shoulders as greenish particles filled it. "Hel..." she screamed but didn't finish because the water already covered her. Kate couldn't breathe under water and she wasn't a good swimmer as she hated swimming. More water gushed into her mouth as she tried to scream. Then finally, the door opened as she was carried along with the water into the room. She was dead. Gone! Her eyes were all white as her skin peeled off.
This house, the mummies and every strange powers of the house finally succeeded. Two died in a day.
