The ceiling in Victorias room had a c***k in it. The c***k went from the thing that held the chandelier to the wall on the other side of the room. It was so thin you could hardly see it. Victoria had been staring at it for three hours. She was waiting for the sun to come up. When the sky outside finally started to get a little lighter it looked like water. Victoria was still wearing the clothes she had on when she went into the part of the house she was not supposed to go into. She was lying on top of the black blanket on her bed. One arm was over her eyes. She was listening to the house make noises. It sounded like the house was breathing. Every time Victoria started to fall asleep she thought about the wheelchair. She heard the sound of its wheels on the floor. It was being pulled back
