Chapter 2: Tailing

Orion *** I altered the aura I possessed and appeared more friendly to them. Humans really were easy to please when you are gifted with a blessed face. "Thank you Orion, you can take the seat next to - Mr. Peterson, why are you here? You are not supposed to be in my class!" The prof shouted at the brunette guy wearing a brown hoodie. I could tell just with a glance that he was a werewolf, and it appears that the man beside him wearing a leather jacket is also one of his kind. This is interesting. I bet they're the ones I heard talking last night. "Yup, sorry about that. I guess I was a tad lost. Byeee-" The guy said in a cheeky manner and I laughed inwardly at how cute that guy was, although I cannot say the same to the other guy who is going to be my desk mate. I strided to where the empty chair was and I waved at some students who greeted me along the way. I was able to feel the pressure increasing as I neared the guy who had a grim look on his face. What's his problem? Shouldn't he already know by now that I'm not a vampire based on my scent? Even after all the commotion has subsided, I could still feel him snatching glances at me. "Excuse me, do you have anything you want to say to me?" I softly asked him, but he just stared at me with dead eyes. His forehead was sweating a little which was odd since the room was fully air conditioned. "Hmm..." He just groaned a little and ignored me. He looked in front and his actions really pissed me off. Tsk! Whatever. - [Ringgg!!!] The bell finally rang and everyone quickly rushed outside to go to the cafeteria. I was storing my things inside my bag when I felt him staring at me again. He was being obvious, can't he be more discreet? "Noah! Let's go, the others are waiting - ooohhhh..." The guy earlier barged in and yelled loudly, except when he saw me standing and looking at him with judging eyes. He then started lowering his voice and fixed himself. "Sorry about that. New kid right? Oreo?" He asked as he extended his hands to me. "Orion." I corrected him and he just laughed it off like there was something funny. "I can sense the tension in the air between you two. Sorry about this guy, he's Noah, I'm Brett. Wanna join us for lunch?" I didn't answer right away since I was apprehensive if I wanted to associate myself with these creatures, but I think it won't do me any harm to get to know them. "Yeah, sure." I replied. "Cool, let's go. Come on Noah." He took my hands and pulled me with him. I took a quick glance at the noah guy and he honestly frightened me a little. His face was consorted like a mad man, eyes dim, brows crossed, as he eyed mine and Brett's hands that were clasped together. Huh? What a creepy werewolf. - "Guys, this is the new kid. His name is Orion, and he'll be a part of our social group from now on." Brett announced to the three people who were sitting on a white round table. The girl with black hair and rimmed glasses smiled enthusiastically at me, together with the guy who was wearing a plain black shirt. On the other hand there was this red headed girl that was scowling at me. "Nice to meet you, I'm Cadence." "Hi, I'm Casper." They both introduced themselves and I returned their kind gesture with a proper greeting as well. They were easy to get along with, unlike the girl who clearly disliked me for some reason on the side. "Freya, mind saying hi to Orion?" Cadence said to the lady, but she just huffed and faced the other way. "Sorry about that, she's just distant. It's just her nature, don't worry." Cadence assured me. We were talking about a bunch of fun stuff and I got the hang of it so easily. For example, I found out that Cadence and Brett had a history, it was hazy but I think I get the gist. And more shocking news came that Noah, the guy who was being grumpy a while ago, had a psycho girlfriend, Jessica. "Uh-ohhh, speaking of the witch, four o'clock guys, the b***h is on her way." Brett whispered and we all turned our heads to the direction and saw a woman with an angry look on her face. All I can say about her is that... she was wearing too much girly makeup. To conclude, she's ugly. "Where the f**k is Noah?! He hasn't contacted me since last night. And I know you people know why that is, so tell me right now!" She angrily yelled at us and she really was acting like a psycho. Their description of her was really on point. "Sorry girly, we don't know where he is. As you can see he's not with us. So go now, shooo!" The red haired girl said which amused me. She's feisty after all. "I wasn't talking to you outcast, I'm clearly asking his sister." "But you said 'you people'?" Brett refuted. "No I did not!" "Ohhhh yes you did. You heard it all right?" Brett teased and this resulted in Jessica to go all red from the face to the neck down. "Screw you, once I become Lun..." She stopped midway and looked at me and the other students who were gossiping about her outrage. She didn't finish what she wanted to say and just stomped away. "Hah! See, she's batshit crazy." Casper chuckled and the other's agreed with him. She's quite something that's for sure. "Where is Noah anyway? Orion, don't you two have the same room on your last period?" Cadence asked me but I just shrugged at her feigning ignorance. I closed my eyes for five seconds and searched through the whole campus with my energy. I saw him in the school gym with a bunch of guys and he looked pissed for some reason. "He's in the gym." I said to them as I opened my eyes again, and they all gave me confused looks. "How do you know?" Casper asked, and I smiled at him innocently. "Just a hunch."
