Chapter 8

After the First Date

Fawn’s P.o.V.

I open the door to the room that I am sharing with Fox. I close the door behind me and lean against it with a sigh. I am lost in my thoughts when a pillow hitting me in my face jars me from my thoughts. I scowl at the culprit. My brother, Fox. “What was that for, doofus?”

“You just seemed all dreamy and starry eyed. Almost like you’re in love. We can’t have that happening already, Little Sister. I take it that he has put a love spell on you. So, like the most amazing brother in the world that I am, I decided to break the spell for you,” he joking says with a wicked grin and a casual shrug. A total doofus, but my total doofus. “How was the date?”

“Do you want the honest answer or the answer we were both hoping for?”

“That good, huh?”

“It was perfect, Fox. Dean was so considerate and loving. It was an absolutely magical afternoon and evening. I am already wanting to accept them as my mate, Foxie Boy. Dean alluded to the fact that they would all go like this. That they would all be this magical. I have fallen in love with them so quickly, which isn’t common for griffins at all, but it has happened. I want them to be mine already. I kissed Dean tonight. Multiple times.”

I don’t even hide it from him. Fox and I agreed a very long time ago that we would never hide anything from each other. It is too hard and a waste of time when it comes to us.

“Congratulations, Little Sister! I am so proud of you for being ready to accept them already. I like them a lot as well, actually. I can really see them as being my brothers-in-laws. You are even the first out of you and me to do anything with a male or female even! f**k! I really thought that it would be me! I really thought I would have it especially since you wanted nothing to do with the princes at first. Oh, well! I am happy that you are happy though. I am happy that you are going to choose to mate with them. Honestly, if you weren’t willing to mate with them, I think father would have tied you down and let them forcibly mate and mark you.”

“I know he would have. He actually threatened me with that scenario the night before we left on that damn ship. He said that if I refused, he would tie me down and let them have their way with me. He also said that if they refused to forcibly mate and mark me that he would then hand me over to the Warrior Convocation to be used and bred repeatedly. So, either way……I was going to end up f****d and marked at the end of this. The princes are the lessor of the two evils and doing it willingly makes my life a lot easier.”

“That makes sense, Little Sister.”

“So, how was your night? I know the guys planned on spending the night with you.”

“We gamed all night. The guys taught me how to play different games on Xbox and PlayStation. It was a really fun night. I enjoyed it and I learned a lot about the other princes. I had a ton of fun with them and really think they will be great for you.”

“Okay. I am going to lay down and talk to Mystery before bed. Night, Foxie Boy.”

“Night, Fawn.”

I lay down on the bed beside Fox and disappear into my mind. I drift into the deep reaches of my mind and find Mystery sulking under a tree in our space. Penny for your thought, Mystery?

I think that they are worthy for us. I think we are lucky that they want us. I want to mate with them. I just want to understand why they rejected their fated mates……Is it really just because they got the offer to mate with us? Or is there more to it? If it is just because of us, then that is just……disgusting. I want to think that they aren’t like that, Fawn. Find out please.

I will, I promise, Mystery.

I feel Mystery withdraw from our conversation as she lays her head down on her front talons. I drift back to the present. I look over and notice Fox fast asleep as he snores softly. I chuckle softly and turn over to go to sleep for the night.

Dean’s P.o.V.

I walk into my room grinning ear to ear. I close the door and turn and grin cockily at my friends. Who are all spread out in various places in my room. “Well, boys, I did us a great favor tonight! She wants us as her mates.”

“How did you manage that,” Avalon asks as he looks at me with a raised eyebrow.

“I did everything Seth suggested. Presents. Words. The date. Everything worked just as Seth said it would! She even kissed me! Like……actually kissed me……willingly!”

Seth groans and tosses his head back. “This is what I get for helping you fools! That kiss should have been mine!”

“I agree, Seth. I am so thankful for what you did for me tonight, Seth. I got a kiss from her because of you. I got her to admit that she desperately wants all of us because of you. Everything that happened tonight is due to you and I am so thankful for what you did for me and our friends tonight.”

Seth nods as he glares at me. “Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Whatever. I take it that it went perfectly then? No hiccups at all?”

“Nope. No hiccups. The date went perfectly and very smoothly. I even had an extra two hours and spent time with Mystery. Gave Thorn time with her as well.” I sigh softly as I lay down on the bed next to Seth. “It was absolutely magical tonight. Thank you, Seth.”

“Not a problem, dude. Glad I could help you and our friends out.”

I nod and look up. “So, how did the night with Fox go? Did he enjoy gaming at all?”

“He absolutely loved every moment of gaming. Taught him Minecraft, GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, Ark, Mario kart, and some more,” Archer says.

I nod and go to speak as Carter does. “So, Archer, you’re next. Got everything planned and ready? Or do you need any help setting any last minute things up?”

“I think I have everything ready, but thanks for asking, Carter! I have reserved the beach. I have the picnic basket ready. I even have the painting class completely reserved. There is one thing though……”

“And what is that, Archer? You know we will always help,” Avalon mutters.

“Well, I know this is a date for just me and her, but I would really like to experience her first painting class with you four and her brother. I think it would make it even more special for her.”

We all look over at Archer in stunned silence. Seth finally speaks up. “You are sure, Archer? We don’t want to intrude on your date with her.”

“I am sure, Seth. I think this is something all five of us would like. I think it is something Fox would like. I think this is something that Fawn would like. I want to make this as special as possible for her, just like you suggested, Seth. You said that these dates should be all about her and that we need to put her first. That is what I am trying to do. I know that deep down she would enjoy it more with all of us and her brother. It would be a new experience for both of them.”

I think about it for a moment and realize that he is right. She will enjoy it so much more with her brother and after tonight I really think that she will appreciate spending time with all of us each day. I look over at Archer and nod. “You are right, Archer. If you are certain about this, I do think she will love you even more for putting aside your wishes for making her day. She will be so grateful to have her brother experience it with her, but I think after tonight she will enjoy getting to experience it with us as well.”

Archer nods quietly and we all sit quietly for an hour before they head out to go to their own rooms for bed. I lay in my bed and drift into the back of my mind into the space that Thorn and I created to relax in my mind. Thorn. What are your thoughts on tonight?

I think that we have finally won our mate and her griffin spirit over completely. I think that we are one step closer to mating and marking her. I think that I fell even deeper in love with her today.

What are your thoughts on what Archer said?

I agree with your thoughts on it. I think that she will love it even more and that it will mean even more to her if Archer includes Fox and us in the painting class. I won’t lie, I don’t want to do the painting class, but it is something that will mean the world to our beautiful mate. So, it means the world to me as well.

I withdraw and think about everything today. The massage at A Dragon’s Claws and Massage. Meeting Mystery. Flying with Mystery and Thorn. Dinner at Shifting Gardens. The movie. Cuddling. Kissing. And finally, Archer’s decision. I sigh and close my eyes as I let sleep take me.
