Is Trust Really Earned?

Chapter 25

Morgan’s POV

I laugh so hard when I hear Dante threaten Andres, that man could flatten Dantes head with one boot. Andres is laughing just as hard, neither of us able to get control. When the laughing is finally under control, I hear Andres ask, “Did you get all of that?” I chuckle again and reply “Every f*****g word mate.” Andres chuckles in response before saying “Ok I’m off got girls to do, things to see.”

I shake my head and know I’m going to regret asking this. I also can’t stop myself “Don’t you mean, girls to see and things to do.” Andres burst into laughter again before calming enough to say, “No mate, I meant it exactly the way I said it.” I roll my eyes and take my earpiece out definitely regretting asking, I head home to fill my dad in on what happened tonight.

After explaining everything to my father I went to bed, when I woke up, I had a message from Andres. Apparently, Enzo was getting a shipment of specialist guns in the next week, and Dante was going to give Andres the details so he could steal them.

I never expected Dante to be in touch so quick, but he is clearly desperate to get Savannah, which will never happen. I know that for sure, Savannah hates him for putting her in a coma. I quickly set about getting ready for the day, so I can inform my father about Dante and update Savannah when she calls later.

Savannah’s POV

After breakfast Enzo and I shower again, only to end up making love once more before we go back to reality. I needed to speak with Morgan and find out what happened last night, so after two showers we are finally on our way home. Enzo holds my hand on his thigh the entire ride back to my house, last night was perfect and I can’t wait to marry this man and spend the rest of our lives together.

I have decided to play Dante’s game until the wedding, then I will tell Enzo and our families everything including Lorenzo’s part. Good thing the people his betraying me with are already in my pocket, Ignacio was there the day I was attacked by Morgans men, he has had a soft spot for me ever since. He is a lovely man, and I will be happy to form an alliance with him, but that can wait until Dante is dealt with.

When we arrive at my house Enzo walks me to the door, he gives me a heart stopping kiss before getting in his car and heading to work. I walk into the house and put my stuff in my room making sure Enzo will definitely be gone when I leave, after about twenty minutes I head to my own office to get updates on what happened last night.

I decide it is easier to conference call everyone into the same call, so I get up Morgan, Tayor and Andres’ numbers and wait for each of them to answer. They all connect at the same time, I don’t waste any time and jump straight in.

…. Telephone call between Savannah, Morgan, Taylor, and Andres ….

Savannah: “Hey guys so what happened last night?”

Taylor: “Always as patient and polite as always I see.”

Morgan and Andres: “Chuckles”

Savannah: “Shut up Taylor, I haven’t got all day.”

Taylor: Sigh’s “Fine, sorry.”

Andres: “Well as you know I met with Dante last night, sorry Sav but it is what you thought.”

Morgan: “He wants Andres to help take down Enzo and, eventually win you.”

Taylor: Growls

Savannah: “You all know that will only happen over my dead body.” Sigh’s “Guy’s I don’t want to say this, but we might need to prepare, if Enzo doesn’t believe me, he will try to kill me.”

Andres: “Dante doesn’t seem to think so, in fact last night he was extremely insistent that wouldn’t be the case.”

Savannah: “Ha, trust me when I tell you, there is only one thing that ensures certain death when it comes to Enzo and that’s betrayal.”

Morgan: “Savannahs right, I think we need to prepare for Enzo not to believe her.

Taylor: “Fine.”

Andres: “Fine.”

Savannah: “So anything else I need to know?”

Morgan: “Yeah, Dante contacted Andres this morning. Something about a shipment coming in this week.”

Savannah: “Yeah, I know the one.”

Andres: “Ok well, he said he will give me the drop off location so I could hit it while it’s being unloaded.

Savannah: “I have a better idea; what if I give you the warehouse info. If you hit there, there will be fewer guards. Doesn’t mean kill them though, Andres.”

Andres; Huffs “Fine.”

Savannah: “Thank you, knock them out by all means but I want them walking the next day. When you have the shipment Taylor will meet you and take it to a secure unit, if Enzo does ever find anything it will all lead back to me not any of you.”

Morgan: “Savannah, you can’t seriously think that’s a good idea.”

Savannah: “If I have them it’s further proof that I have done nothing wrong, I was going to return them in the end anyway.

Andres: “I hate to say it, but it’s the best plan we have for now.

Savannah: “Exactly, and anyway I’m in charge so you do as you’re told.

Morgan, Taylor, and Andres: Chuckle “Yeah, ok Boss Lady.”

Savannah: “f**k off all of you, I’ll be in touch make sure you’re free.”

…. End of phone call ….

Savannah’s POV

I lean back in my chair and close my eyes rubbing the bridge of my nose, I don’t know how this is all going to play out, but I’ve got a very bad f*****g feeling this is going to bite me in the arse and hurt me greatly. I don’t have time to dwell for too long as my office phones rings.

I answer it and hear come through the line “I thought you were staying home today?” I chuckle and respond, “I was but you know what it’s like being a mafia boss, never a minute to ourselves.” Enzo chuckles down the phone before asking “Dinner tonight?”

I blush even though I know he can’t see me and answer “That would be lovely.” Enzo and I arrange a time and hang up the phone, I spend a couple hours working before heading home to get ready.

As the date is at Enzo’s house I opt for skinny jeans, a camisole, and some wedges. I pack an overnight bag as Enzo instructed and head downstairs to wait, my father is out, and my mother is in the kitchen doing him dinner.

She turns to me with a big grin before asking “Are you ready?” I blush and nod, I turn to leave before she can say anything to embarrass me. I hear her shout after me “Have fun, don’t do anything I wouldn’t.” I practically run out the door deciding it would probably be safer to wait for Enzo on the steps outside.
