Chapter 4: The mate bond

I didn't know when I said this but had to confirm it to her.
“You are not going anywhere!”
Selena walked to me but I stopped her before she could utter any word.
“This pack took care of you for fifteen years, you can't just leave like that… But I will grant your wish to leave, only on the one condition!”
“Be specific!”
She said without even glaring at my side.
“We are expecting a special guest today, you will have to stay and serve him. After he is gone, you can leave this pack and nobody will stop you"
“I will listen to you this last time, I pray I never see you again!”
Even if this is the only way to keep her in the pack for the meantime, I will do it and figure out something later.
As Estelle wanted to walk back to the pack, she tripped and I took off to save her. Before I could get my hands on her body, someone else already caught her.
They glanced at each other persistently, it was Kael. He mentioned being here at night, what is he doing here now?
I clenched my fist seeing them together. If it were me, I would have stopped them from holding each other in such a romantic style. As much as I wanted to take it off my mind, the more angry I got.
Kael was smiling while gazing at her and Estelle responded with a grin. I cleared my throat to distract them. But before that, there was a bond glowing around them.
“Mate bond?”
I inquired from myself before the duo left each other.
“How are you feeling?”
He inquired from Estelle and she grinned.
“I'm Kael Roussel, Alpha of Star Moon Pack”
“Estelle!”
Estelle walked away without even gazing at me. I couldn't care less because I felt like a part of me was in need of something.
We welcomed Kael and his Beta, Austin. We exchanged greetings and discussed the attack of the Lycans against werewolf packs.
The discussion was boring to me. I stared at Kael and couldn't stop remembering what happened earlier. How they both grinned at each other, didn't flee my mind.
“Are you participating in this discussion at all?”
Kael asked, jolting me to reality.
“I have a question for you, Kael. Did you come here to discuss business or were you here for some other things?”
“Like what?”
He asked almost immediately. I wanted to give a response but kept it to myself to avoid being suspected of over-caring for Estelle.
“Never mind!”
I know that you have something up your sleeves, Kael but you won't get that! As much as I need you, I won't let you get in the way of my happiness. I will observe you first!
Estelle
I couldn't stop thinking about the guy that stopped me from tripping earlier. His cute eyes and the fragrance of his perfume. Especially when his long hair curved to the front, he was damn handsome. If only he was my mate!
“Of course, he is our mate, Estelle!”
Lyla said and my eyes shimmered. But how possible could this be? I was only rejected this morning and the moon goddess already assigned me a wolf?
“Yes, Estelle. You were rejected, that's why you were eligible for mating. The moon goddess blessed you with another mate, an Alpha!”
“Lyla, I am not excited about this. I got rejected this morning, what if I get rejected again?”
My heart couldn't stop beating. I am still getting over the heartbreak. Bryan gave me this morning, and now, the new mate!
“You should be excited because this person is not as harsh as our first mate, I also love him, you know ‘’
“I won't inform him, Lyla. I rather be a rogue than suffer from another heartbreak!”
I stared at Lyla in the mirror as it disappeared. Bryan's words flashed on my head, I still can't believe that he rejected me. Now that he has done so, I don't think I will be able to forgive him.
I have made up my mind to become a rogue. I can't stand another rejection from another Alpha.
I opened the door to serve the guests when I saw the young man who was with the young Alpha earlier.
“Hi, I'm Austin, Beta of Star Moon Pack. My Alpha wishes to see you!”
I was baffled because I didn't remember meeting up with the young Alpha.
“But why?”
“I don't know, I follow orders”
I grinned and nodded, assuring Austin that I would meet up with the young Alpha.
I opened the door and the latter said
“Here you are, Estelle!”
I perceived the same fragrance! Yes, the fragrance of the perfume of the person who r***d me last night. It was choking inside the room!
