“I have to go to Tennessee with Cordell in a few days,” I announced to everyone, but specifically Eriana, at breakfast.
“What?! Why are you just now telling me?” Eriana asked with a pout as she pushed around her food.
“It just happened last night and it’ll only be a few days, baby,” I responded as I kissed the back of her hand. She looked up at me with those sad doe eyes and I almost wanted to reconsider leaving her for even a moment.
“Do you need us to go with you?” Anthony asked as his eyebrows furrowed in concern.
“Nah, I don’t think so. I’m just going to see if I can help out with a little border issue,” I responded with a shrug as Cordell nodded.
