Chapter 5 I pour us both a cup. He cradles his like it’s the Holy Grail, inhales the steam like he’s just discovered oxygen, and sips like it’s the elixir of life. “You should really let me give Penny a few lessons,” I tell him. “You’d be surprised how much better the coffee will taste.” “But then you wouldn’t visit me.” I freeze with the cup halfway to my lips. I set it back down on his desk. I don’t trust my hands not to tremble.
