The Saturday Party

1547 Words
The moment I get of the car, the sound of the loud music filled my ears together with the shouts and cheers of excited youth inside the mansion of Keith, the captain of the football team. Their house is has modern design just like our house but ours are bigger. There are many cars parked outside and there are also people who’s holding red cups. Based on the movies I watched and books I’ve read, people who are outside specifically in the front yard are more chill and calm compare to the people inside the house and on the backyard or pool. They are all standing and talking in groups. Some were leaning in the hood of their cars busy chattering with their friends while the others jamming in the music from the inside. My brothers are walking behind me, Philomena, and Chantal. They insisted to go here late which is almost midnight and the party is obviously on its peak. We also had a long time discussing about not just my clothes but as well as my friends, specifically Philomena. They wanted us to wear something that’s not too revealing but not too the point that we will all look out of place. Chantal didn’t argue and looks like she was just really forced to come but Philomena showed a clear sign of protest. In the end, she wore the clothes she wanted which is a white bralette and black mini skirt. It look perfectly on her because she got the nicest body out of us three. Me, on the other hand wore a sleeveless dress that falls mid thigh and I covered myself with a denim jacket. Chantal just wore a simple white hoodie and black shorts. She looks comfortable in that and so was I. After a long time preparing we finally left and drove here. We entered the front yard which made us caught the attention of most of the people there. Philomena confidently waved her hands on the people she knew while I clung my arms on Chantal’s. I kinda feel awkward. I also heard my brothers greeting some people form behind. “Is that the Gomez siblings?” “Maia is here?!” “I never imagined that they will let Maia go in a party that is like this” We are walking towards the front door, and I heard some of my schoolmates saying those. Some are happy, confused and shocked. Well, just like what I said, my brothers don’t really let me so that kind of reaction isn’t new to me. I just ignored them and continue walking. I turned my head and saw Lennox standing beside me. He smiled reassuringly at me and placed his arms around my shoulders, “You feeling okay? You look uncomfortable. If you wanted to go home, you can tell me” I shook my head quickly. Yes, this things are new to me. I am quite confused and doesn’t know what to do but deep inside there’s are feeling of excitement forming up. I know that I wanted to experience this. I kinda feel free and like a grown up. “No, I’m good. I’m just confused on what should I do” I calmly answered. Philomena heard and turned her head towards us, she was walking in front of me, “Well, have fun. That’s what you should do!” she raised her voice a little because as we walk toward the house, the party sound is getting louder. I didn’t answered and just nodded. “I should be finished reading that book by now.” I heard Chantal complaining under her breath. The two of us are really close to each other so I was able to hear it. She obviously doesn’t want to be here. Since she came in our house, she’s been acting irritated and annoyed. I stopped walking and because I was clinging to her she stopped as well. Same with Lennox and my brothers who’s walking behind me. Philomena didn’t notice and continued walking and greeting some of her friends. “Why did you stopped walking?” Lennox asked and stared at me. “Is there a problem, Maia?” “What now?!” “The party is inside. Why are we stopping here?” I didn’t know which brother is which, but I don’t care. I am concerned with Chantal. She looked stressed and uncomfortable. I don’t want her to feel that. If she doesn’t want here, we will get out of here. “Do you want to go home? We can have a sleepover in our house instead” I suggested while smiling so she can feel that it is fine to tell me what she truly feels. “I wanted to. But I don’t want to get a call on that stupid annoying spoiled brat while I was sleeping or busy reading. And the only way not to get that was to go in these party” she blurted out looking irritated. “I will talk to Philomena. We can just go home” I told her then I turned my head towards Lennox, “Can you drive us home?” My brother just nodded and pull out his car keys. “What? Wait. I wanted to party. Why are we going home?” Lloyd asked and held Lennox arm to stop him as well as mine. “You can all stay here and party, Lloyd. It’s just me and Chantal who’ll leave. You guys can still have fun here” I assured him. “But who would drive us home. We all rode Lennox’ SUV” he added one of his worry. Lennox removed Lloyd hands from him and said, “I will just send one of our drivers here to drive you home.” Lloyd nodded and let go of my arm, “Okay, drive safely” “I’ll just come with you. I don’t want to party anymore” Lewis blurted out. Morgan cleared his throat before saying “I am in a mood to have a movie night. I’ll go home as well.” “Wait, are you sure? I can go home by myself” Chantal looked bothered that some of my brothers decided to go home as well. Knowing her, she might think that she’s being a hindrance and a kill joy. I tighten my hold on her arms for a little bit to get her attention and to assure as well, “It’s fine, Chantal. I do feel a little excited to be here, but I can’t ignore the fact that I feel that I don’t really belong here.” She let out a deep sigh and nodded. I was about to say goodbye to my brothers, but Philomena came together with Keith. “What are you guys doing here?” she asked confused. Keith was looking friendly with a smile, he nodded at my brothers as a sign of greeting. He look like a normal blonde, popular and sporty guy. His visuals aren’t that surprising although he’s handsome. “Hey, everyone! Welcome. There are drinks inside, let’s go!” Keith invited and motioned us to get inside their house. “Sure! But my sister is going home together with her friend, Lewis and Morgan. Lennox will drive their home” Lloyd explained in behalf of us. Philomena frowned her forehead and stared at us “What? Why?” I looked for words that will sound nice to explain but Chantal is the one who spoke first, “Simply, I don’t want to be here” and she didn’t look for a nice word. “Huh? But you are here already!” “It’s not too late to go home. I thought I would be able to take it but nah! This place isn’t really for me. If it wasn’t for your threat, I won’t be here” Chantal just straight up told her. Philomena looked offended and about to argue but I stopped her by holding her arms. I was about to explain and calm her but a group of guys which I don’t really want to see, just made things worst by saying, “Nice legs there, Maia. I hope I could touch it though” we all glance on the group of Hugo standing proudly few meters away from us. He sounded so cocky and his friends even the audacity to laugh like their friend didn't catcall me. It seem like they are supporting him. Are they really friends? Friends should correct each other not support them all the time even what they are doing is bad. I was filled with fear, standing frozen and after few minutes, I just realized that going here is indeed a bad idea.
