Jake slammed the door shut behind Lance. He could hear Lance’s laughter down the halls. Jake’s hand was turning white from how hard his grip was; he could feel the metal bending within his palm.
Quinn felt the anger radiating off Jake from across the room. Her heart was pounding, and her chest began to ache. Fear overcame her once again.
“Wh-what did he mean that he would hurt us?” Quinn shuddery asked. Quinn had never seen Lance’s evil side, only his nice and caring side. His threat to her scared her, knowing that now she could be an enemy of the Lannister’s.
Hearing her worried voice, Jake instantly calmed down and walked back over to Quinn. He wrapped his arms around her and held her close. The last thing they needed now was Quinn going back to the hospital yet again.
