************ 1994 FLASHBACK  ************** the next morning Diane woke to what she could have sworn were voices inside the castle.  but being alone in a castle this big it wasn't uncommon to think you heard things with the everlasting silence surrounding her daily. She got up shrugging it off and continued bout her morning routine. After brushing her teeth and using the bathroom Diane paused suddenly out of nowhere came this strangely intoxicating smell emanating from her bedroom. Convinced she's losing it Diane continues on about her day. Stepping out of the bathroom back into her bedroom only to be surprised by three unwelcomed visitors roaming the presumably empty castle. There stood tom, Albert, and Isaac now staring at a frightened Diane before either of the four wolves could react a large growl came from Thomas catching everyone off guard. "Mate?" Tom spoke up breaking the silence. Diane c****d her head to the side. Now confused. See Diane wasn't 16 yet she hadn't yet gotten her wolf so even though one partner was fully aware he now stood in front of his mate, however, Diane was clueless. She stood in the door was staring puzzled as to who these strange wolves were and why did they come here? nobody comes here Diane thought. Not convinced and undecided Diane slammed her hands together once again trying to channel her power of ice for her own protection. The only problem was it didn't work. She was too weak from last night's events poor thing exerted all the energy she had. Now left with no escape and no one to help Diane did the only thing she could think of. She tried to make a run for it, she pushed past Albert and Isaac with little to no effort at all sending them crashing to the ground. Halfway through her bedroom door, she was grabbed from behind by a pair of strong hairy arms stopping her dead in her tracks. Each second in those arms sent tingles through her body urging her to stop her struggle but she was a fighter. Diane refused to give in causing Tom to squeeze his hold of her tighter and tighter. Diane began digging her nails through her captor's arms causing more of a struggle between the pair. That was until her captor pinned her against the wall pulling her closer into his chest sending tingles up her spine. A pleasurable moan threatened to escape her lips as Tom leaned close enough to whisper the words "MINE" he said in-between breaths causing Diane's knees to buckle underneath her. Wrapped up in an intoxicating level of lust they stood there unable to part in an awkward yet steamy 5 minutes. finally, with Diane no longer showing signs of flight or fight left, Tom let her go for just long enough for her to turn and face him.  "Wow," Tom said. "Your beautiful" he added.  A now-smitten Diane just chuckled. Cheeks red and full. But no longer afraid or alone for that matter. After 2 hours of chatting tom finally asked her what she was doing here in a castle all alone, when she told the boys her story. Thomas understood she would need time to get to know him better or anyone for that matter, she's been alone for years without contact from any living being. He had to take this slow. Get to know her just as she needed time to get to know him and his friends. After all, she was his mate, and he'd be damned if he just left her there alone to be forgotten like everyone else. That just wasn't who Thomas was. He took his time with her taking everything a step at a time whilst still getting her to open up about every aspect of her life. Thomas dedicated all his time teaching Diane about the outside world, all the things she should have already known but given the circumstances in which she had endured he understood why she'd need her handheld through everything. After all, she was just a scared sheltered she-wolf locked away and forgotten in some lonely castle. 2 days had gone by and Diane was just starting to truly open up to young Thomas. She told him about her developed fears of the outside world brought on by her mother constantly keeping her surrounded by books and her lessons in the castle's library. She told him about Ruth and how she was the only one to stand up to the new pack leader when he threatened to banish anyone who helped the orphaned princess she stepped up and showed pure bravery and volunteer to stay behind in order to take care of her. Even mentioning how she made a garden outside of the walls of the castle just to ensure she'd have food to feed the both of them for the years to come. But mostly because she couldn't possibly live forever and the thought of leaving Diane alone abandoned without food or knowing how to take care of herself like the rest of the so-called loyal Cresent wolves from their pack did abandoning all loyalties to the royals who once took them in when they had no one, nowhere to turn. Accepting them into their pack giving them somewhere to rest their heads food to eat and a title amongst other things. Ruth was different she had morals she took pride in the oath she took, even as a lowly omega she worked hard and was proud to do it even as a kitchen helper she was always kind and caring and her loving heart wasn't hard to see at all. How hard she worked on the garden day in and day out. Till the day she discovered she had died, peacefully in her sleep. Leaving Diane alone once again in the old forgotten castle on the mountain top. Burying her in that very same garden she loved so much. the only proper way Diane saw fit.
