NINA POV "Are you okay?" he asked, his eyes scanning me for any signs of injury. I nodded, still shaken. "Yes, thank you sir," I said. Lucas turned back to Maria. "You dont have to hit her like that its my fault”. He said Maria's face twisted in anger again, but she knew better than to cross Lucas. She stormed out of the room, leaving us alone. Lucas turned to me again. "I apologize for my wife's behavior," he said. "She's been under a lot of stress lately." I nodded, trying to understand. "It's okay," I said. "I know why she's upset, it's all my fault. I should resign sir." i said acting like a victim. Mr black chuckled silently on the device. Lucas's eyes locked on mine “You don't have to resign” he said. “I am not letting you go, you look so sexy for me to let you leave, how about you be my second woman” he said I paused for a moment, wondering what kind of offer Lucas keeps giving me. I stood still thinking of a lie to tell Lucas, but no perfect one came at the right time and at that time I knew I was in deeper trouble with a way of no escape. “What do you think? You can be the second wife of the richest and powerful man in russian” he said and laughed aloud. I stood still short of words, expecting Mr Black to find a solution. "Boss, I cant....." I stuttered, trying to find the right words. Lucas moved closer to me, his eyes locked on mine. He held my hand, his touch sending shivers down my spine. "You don't have to say anything," he said, his voice low and husky. "No one refuses the Don. I can do and undo. Whatever I want is mine." He praised himself, his confidence radiating from every pore. But I just stood still, my mind racing with thoughts of escape. "I mean, you're already mine," Lucas continued, his grip on my hand tightening. "You're under my protection, and soon, you'll become my bride." I felt a surge of fear at his words. I knew I had to think fast, or I'd be trapped forever. “Boss, please," I said, trying to reason with him. "I have a life outside of this world. I have people who care about me." Lucas laughed, his eyes glinting with amusement. "You think anyone can protect you from me?" he asked. "I am the Don. I am the law and now I want a honest answer from you, will you be my bride?” He asked again. I nodded, because that's the only thing that could save me right now. He laughed sheepishly and asked his men to pour him a drink to celebrate. I slowly walked out of his room to my room. As I walked away from Lucas's room to my room, I slammed the door and locked it behind me, trying to shut out the reality of my situation. But I knew it was only a temporary reprieve. "Hey, you ruthless Black man," I said as I touched the device on my ear, my voice barely above a whisper. "Is this your plan for me? This man is going to force me into marriage." I heard a chuckle on the other end of the line. "You got that thing?" Mr. Black asked, his voice deep and husky. "Is this thing more important than my life?" I asked, trying to keep my emotions in check. Mr. Black smiled, his voice dripping with amusement. "That is the main reason why we sent you over there," he said. "By 12 am this midnight, be awake." I felt a surge of fear at his words. "Why? What's going to happen?" I asked, but he wouldn't reply. I was left with only my thoughts, wondering what lay ahead. "This evil mafia," I said to myself silently. "Just wait and see till I get back." I knew I had to be careful, had to play along until I could find a way out. But as I lay in bed that night, waiting for whatever would happen at midnight, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was trapped in a dangerous game. As the clock struck 12, I heard a faint noise outside my room. I got out of bed and approached the door, my heart racing with anticipation. Suddenly, the door creaked open, and a figure slipped inside with a mask on his face but I knew that It was Bruno, his eyes locked on mine. "Time to go," he said, his voice low and urgent. I nodded, following him out of the room and into the unknown. Everywhere was silent but lights were turned on, I looked very scared but I decided to trust in Bruno. “Where is that Evil boss of yours?” I whispered to Bruno as we kept running, but he didn't give me a reply, he never talks anyway. As we reached the locked gate, everywhere was locked and the dogs began to bark we had no time left to spare, Bruno suggested we jump. I gasped “Jump? I cant” I whispered. Bruno led me to the wall, his eyes scanning the perimeter. He began to climb, his movements swift and silent. I watched in awe as he reached the top, his figure silhouetted against the moonlight. He turned to me, his hand extended. "Give me your hand," he whispered. I hesitated for a moment, then reached up. He grasped my hand, his grip firm, and pulled me up. I scrambled to get a foothold, my heart racing with excitement. Once I was beside him, he signaled for me to jump down. I looked down, my stomach dropping. "You must be joking, This is a miles away, do you want my legs to break?" I whispered silently, my eyes wide with fear. Bruno checked his watch, his expression urgent. "Jump little tail, the emergency bell is going to ring, and Lucas will come outside. If he does, we are both going to die here," he said, his voice low and fast. I took a deep breath, my heart pounding in my chest. I knew I had to trust Bruno, had to trust that he would catch me. I closed my eyes and jumped, my stomach lurching as I plummeted towards the ground. Bruno caught me, his arms wrapping around me like a vice. We landed hard, the impact jarring my bones. But Bruno didn't hesitate, pulling me to my feet and dragging me into a nearby alleyway, suddenly a black luxurious car parked beside us and Bruno led me in. I put on a smile because the mission was completed and successful.
