Cain lifted the creature off of the ground by its throat and stared it down. The display was enough of a shocker but seeing Cain’s expression was far more so. Gone was his ear to ear grin and gone was the malicious air that had surrounded him every time Mina had caught a glimpse. Instead he had a whirlwind of emotions on his expression.
