RILEY HARRINGTON'S POV
I stride down the long driveway with my bags, fresh tears rolling down my cheeks. I don't have even a single cent on me to keep me alive. The only thing I can look forward to right now is the modeling job I found. But that’s still days away. Where do I go for now?
The security at the big gates regards me with pity as they let me out of the huge estate I used to call home.
Outside the gates and the tall walls surrounding the mansion, I glace up and down the deserted avenue. Obviously, there is no taxi at sight. None of the tycoons that live around here has ever needed a taxi services of course.
It's in the middle of the night and I'm already cold and scared being all alone out here. I'll have to beg for a ride from one of the passing vehicles.
I begin walking along and strike out my hand when a pair of headlights of a sleek silver Mercedes approached. The driver, a woman with a pale face illuminated by her dashboard, doesn't even slow down. I try to wave down a few more cars, but they either ignore me or veer away.
Walking will have to do. I walk for over a half an hour before I luckily spot a battered old delivery van idling near a service entrance. The driver is audibly snoring on his seat so I have to wake him. Thankfully, he turns out to be a fatherly old man with a good heart that is worried over a girl walking all alone in the middle of the night, he quickly agrees to give me a ride to whenever I want and I gratefully give him Mary's address.
My heart throbs with apprehension as I gaze out at the harsh world that I now must navigate in search of my own success. From what I have heard, it never comes easy.
I may not succeed, but I am making a promise to myself that my heart will never fall in love again. I will not make the mistake of becoming a powerless, dependent woman that can be easily discarded and replaced with another.
THIRD PERSON'S POV
"You should have kicked her out earlier. Something that ugly and aggressive belongs in the streets." Briana says while wrapping her arms around Wilden's neck and kissing him aggressively on the lips.
"You're an ideal woman, Miss Sullivan. You should have been mine long before today." He praises in his husky voice making the kiss deeper until they are both out of breath.
"I am all yours now, body and soul." She replies.
"You can have this house at a cost of a kiss." He generously offers her the home that Riley decorated for the last two years of their relationship.
"I will give you more than just a kiss now that the worthless w***e is gone. Take me to your bed." She answers.
WILDEN'S POV
A naked Briana Sullivan runs her fingers over my chest as we make love for the third time in the night. She is so determined to prove that she can satisfy me sexually despite it not being the core reason I want her to be mine.
I will marry her not only for her looks and brains but her useful talent. She is more precious than any other woman. She has a gift that otherwise females can only dream of possessing.
She moans loudly as our love making comes to a breathtaking climax and our bodies tremble with overwhelming sensations. She pecks my lips one last time and rests her head on my chest.
I take my phone from the night stand and check for any texts or missed calls. I am surprised that Riley hasn't called or sent me a text since the security dragged her out of the house. Whenever we have an argument before she always was fast to desperately come across with "sorrys".
I should have sent her away earlier. It's a shame the beautiful angel beside me got to meet my previous poor choices.
