Her mentor had gone pale, but the shocked expression on her face only lasted a second. She let out a sigh, and when Theora put her sword away and offered her hand to help Quil up, she took it. Even as she stood up, Quil didn't say anything, her expression too complex to decipher. Theora decided to let her mentor take a breath and let the news sink in, using that moment to go to her best friend and hug him. "It's good to see you," he whispered. "It's good to be back," she smiled against his shoulder. "Why do I have a feeling you're not here to stay long?" "Just long enough to have a chat with Quil, enjoy your mom's cooking, and sleep in a proper bed," Theora gave him an apologetic look. "Yeah," Danell sighed. "With what we heard from the Capital, I'm surprised you're even here at all.
