Chapter 37 - The Paradise

1308 Words
After eating our lunch, which we finished all without even wasting a single grain, we stayed there for half an hour as per my request to rest. Aside from we were full to the extent, I wanted him to at least, relax before we drove again for another hour. The final hour to arrived in our destination. This is the longest ride I have ever been experienced. I never traveled before, I don’t know... It was not my thing although I could afford it, and my parents’ will probably opposed the idea, still... I didn’t grow up wanting to explore the whole world. But now that I have traveled this far, I find it fun. Not just because I’m with my favorite person but the thought of meeting new faces, discovering the reality of people in another class level, below or even above us, was kind of interesting. And maybe tasting different kinds of crusine, too, would be exciting. I honestly like all those unfamiliar food they served. I felt like I’m not living in my home country in which food like Sinigang exist. Yup, I know I still have a lot of things to discover. This was clearly a sign of being arrogant in so many things and admittedly, I’m ashamed at that fact. I wish I was taught enough. Maybe not just academically, but somehow, of course... Something that has a touch of reality... Even despite my arrogance, Simeon patiently explained to me what else were in the table, and share things I didn’t know about the reality of being poor, without making me feel dumb, or stupid. Something that I loved about him. He never make me feel stupid at things I did not know about. He educate me, and was willing to teach me more, and vice versa. “We’re getting there, baby...” he informed as he glanced at me. “Almost there, then we’ll start this week with nothing but the best.” Smiling, I sighed in happiness. “All the best...” I whispered. “I’m sure you’ll love it there,” he assured for the nth time. “Just your type, peaceful and quiet, with breathtaking view. The moment you open your eyes in the morning, you’ll wish to stay there forever.” I can’t help but let out a small chuckles. He has been boasting the location of his place since earlier and I could see how proud he was as he talked about it, so I let him be. “We’ll see that, baby. I’ll be the one to judge when we got there.” “Be fair with your judgment,” he threatened. A hint of playfulness was evident in his voice. “I play fair, love...” I said as my hands run through his thigh, then squeeze it before withdrawing my hand. “Not fair,” he breathed. True to his words, I was beyond amazed when we arrived at his place surrounded by the chorus of greens. Same as their house, it was located in wildness. But his place was tiny yet beautiful, added the goodly view through the glass wall, it has small trees, and not afar was a clean and calm as statue big lake. And gosh... The weather was too calming. It wasn’t that cold, and probably not hot, too. It was far different than the atmosphere in the city and over all, I felt like I am in a province. Even the bad smell I could sniff in the city was not here. By just staring at the trees and the huge lake, I could smell healthy surroundings. A nature that I fell in love with. “This is beautiful...” I lost count in my fingers on how many times I praised the whole place. He was not being overreacting... The place ended to be beautiful than I imagined. Now I see why he was too confident. I ran towards the small balcony where I could see the lake. Small birds were chirping around, the water was too quiet I’m afraid to make a noise as I might disturbed its calmness. “You picked the right place,” I commented. “I will say it again, baby. This is gorgeous and you have the best eye ever!” Giggling, I turned around only to see him standing meters away behind me, with his hands inside his pockets and his smiles that got me hooked, again. I don’t know when I’m going to stop admiring and falling in love more by just seeing his cute smile. And I don’t even think that I can stop. It’s the most beautiful smile I have ever seen and I don’t have any plans to wipe it away, or give him a reason to not stretch those lips. It will remain on his lips. Whatever happens... “Thank you, Lia.” Glancing at the lake, I tucked my hair behind my ears before walking towards him. Smiling, I tiptoed a bit to encircled my arms to his nape and I could feel his hands on my back. I raised my head to looked at him. “You made me so happy today, Simeon. And for that, I deem to give you the best one-week experience starting this day. Only good and the best memories you can keep forever inside this,” I pointed to his heart. “And in your mind, too.” “I pledge to do the same,” he whispered. “All worries should be chuck away outside my property, Lia. No overthinking, no what ifs’, and just no thinking of anything that would ruin one’s mood.” “I promise,” I nodded. “If you’re bothered by something while we’re here, tell me, alright? So we could sort things out. You know how I hate being left clueless.” Chuckling, I rested my head to his chest. “I will, baby...” I assured. “This mind of mine will behave and think nothing but us. No more overthinking... It’s just you and me in this beautiful place.” I have forgotten all the problems for a while now. Ruining this vacation with him is not on my list of worries. But as he said, no more worries. Before we arrived in here, I already thrown the worries away and maybe, I will scoop it back once this quality time with him is over. Of course, reality... We still need to face the reality of our story. “We’re clear,” he said. “For now, we should rest. I actually felt the tiredness just now. The three hours drive, even if there was rest in between worn me out.” “I thought my presence was enough to give you strength?” I teased. “Yup, but I think I literally need to rest.” Chuckling, I let him grabbed me towards the small room. The tiny house was just really enough for two people. It was perfectly fit for us, a couple... As we laid on the soft mattress, Simeon just took less than ten minutes to drifted to sleep. I was just staring at him as he snore, though it was not that loud. And god... Am I crazy to think that it’s cute? With his lips that was slightly open, even his eyes were not completely closed, still... He’s handsome even in his sleep. He never snore when we slept together before in my unit, just now. “You must be really tired...” I whispered as I snuggle more in his body. I felt him moved but it was because he tightened his hugs on me. I stayed awake for a moment, until I felt like my eyes were ready to close then, I fell asleep.
