Aria A sound jolts me awake, but it isn't a bell, not this time. It is a scream. It tears through the castle, shaking everything awake. It echoes through every corridor and bile rises in my throat. My heart stops, before my instincts take over, and I am out of bed and running before Bubbles even stirs. The sound pulls me down the hall, through the arches, and into the great marble stairway. There is another scream that bounces off the walls. Bubbles darts ahead of me, fur glowing faintly in the dark. My bare feet slap against stone as I round the final corner. The Hall of Mirrors is alive. Light flashes across the walls, and figures twist within the glass. Some of the faces I half recognize, some laughing, some crying, some only shadows.
