Six months later. The house wasn't supposed to exist. At least, not according to Midnight. When Kael first suggested moving out of the estate and building something of their own, she'd laughed. Then she'd laughed harder when he showed her the plans. Then she'd discovered he'd already bought the land. Typical. Absolutely typical. Now she stood on the porch of a large stone-and-wood house overlooking Black Hollow while the late autumn wind carried the scent of pine and distant fireplaces through the mountains.
