Amelia's POV...
"Where are you going?" I asked, holding him to stop him.
"You heard them," he said. "She passed out and..."
"The doctors will definitely revive her. That's the job of a doctor and you're not a doctor so you don't need to go," I said.
"Amelia," he removed my hands and held my shoulders. "She needs me,"
I frowned. "And I don't,"
He sighed. "You can manage. But hers is different. Her health could be at risk here,"
I scoffed in disbelief. "I can manage. What makes you think that?" I asked, looking into his eyes, but he didn't look back at me.
"It's been over a month since we've been intimate. You don't come around anymore and to make matters worse, you gave me a separate room, far from yours. I miss your touches, your kisses, the words you whisper to me every night when you hold me and every morning when you kiss me good morning. My body misses you. Nyx misses Valthor..."
I choked as the tears ran down my cheeks freely.
"I don't like what you're doing to me... to us," I held his hands again. "Please don't go,"
"I can't stay. What if something happens to her?"
"You're not listening to me, are you?"
"I promise I'll come back, once I see she's okay," he added as he stroked my cheeks with his palms. I felt my body come alive the moment his skin touched mine and my pupils dilated as desire gnawed in me.
"I can't," I said, my voice breaking.
There was silence between us. Each of us had something to say but didn't. I decided to break the silence first.
"I want you to touch me," I said. "Make me feel that ache and passion that I only feel when I'm with you. I want your lips on mine. I want to feel your breath on my skin. Make me scream," I put my arms around him. "Set my body on fire,"
I could feel the desire rising. It hadn't been easy for me since the pregnancy. I get a lot of mood swings, cravings, and my desire for him has been on the increase.
"Listen Amelia," he said, breaking free. "I'll be back,"
"You're still going to go no matter what I say?"
"I'll be back as soon as..."
"Do you still love me?" I asked. He didn't answer me before, but now, I desperately needed an answer.
"Not now, Amelia. Now is not the time for that,"
"It's a simple question. Do you still love me?"
He sighed and cupped my cheeks. "You know I love you,"
"No," I shook my head. "It's not about what I know. I need to know how you truly feel,"
The next thing he did, caught me off guard.
He leaned in and kissed me. I quickly responded to the kiss. I shut my eyes as I put my hands around his shoulders as our lips moved in sync.
I didn't want to let him go. I deepened the kiss and kissed him like my life depended on it.
He wanted to pull out, but I didn't want to. He had already ignited the passion and desire in me. Nyx was so excited to finally meet Valthor, his wolf, again.
"Amelia," he groaned into the kiss. "I need to go," he said and forcefully pulled out, moving back.
I stood there, panting and breathing hard. My hands clutched my chest hard because my heart was thumping so hard it felt like it would burst.
Beads of sweat covered his forehead. He wasn't looking at me.
"Colton?" I said, trying to move closer, but he was faster.
Without saying anything, he quickly dashed out of the room, leaving me there.
"No," I cried weakly as I fell to the ground. Nyx was already howling in despair at the void and separation.
I let out a depressing cry....
He chose her over me. He wasn't willing to stay with me but he was worried because she passed out.
I lay there on the floor, crying and thrashing. I didn't know how long I stayed there for, or when I slept off.
I was woken up the next morning by the chirping of the birds. As soon as my eyes fell open, I searched the room... but he wasn't there.
"He didn't come," I murmured.
I tried standing up, but immediately when I tried, I felt a sharp pain in my belly. My hand flew there.
"What was that?"
I managed to stand up but I felt dizzy and everything appeared doubled.
I fell on the bed and shut my eyes. I tried talking to Nyx, but I couldn't reach her. It seemed like she had shut me off.
I spent the rest of the day indoors. I didn't eat or drink anything. I was feeling sick and the sharp pain in my stomach wasn't my only problem... my body was beginning to burn.
By night, it was already worse. I couldn't breathe and I felt like every part of my body was burning. I still couldn't reach Nyx.
I called for help, but no one heard me. I had to let someone know. I stumbled off the bed and tried crawling to the door.
I couldn't die. Not yet. My pup needs me.
I let out a sharp piercing scream as the heat intensified and I felt my energy drain. I heard someone running towards my room.
"Luna, are you okay?" One of the female servants said as she opened the door and saw me on the floor.
I couldn't answer.
She rushed to me on the floor and checked my pulse.
"What's wrong with me?" I asked weakly, my voice barely above a whisper.
"Luna," she looked at me. "I think you're in heat,"
