19. Acceptance

. Felicity POV:

I walked out from the hall; I couldn’t comprehend what has happened since the Elder meeting. First my mother said I need to stay here to protect myself to protect Sarah’s bloodline. I am the last chance for Sarah’s bloodline to survive, but I cannot have children and if I do, I will not be the next Mother something I have trained my whole life for. I have never thought about being defeated and no one has done it.

Then my mother tells me I need to be marked to have even more power, but physical power will never overcome the political power I have craved since birth. Stay hidden and protect my sisters or go back to Marble and get the physical power I can have? If I get the physical power due to the mating, I might have enough power to defeat Dracula and defend my sisters anyway.  

I walked back to my room and closed the door behind me, Zara looked up from the bed and tilted her head as if to say, ‘What are we doing then’.

 Suddenly, a cold shiver overtook my body and the windows in my room flung open, I covered my face and lowered myself to the floor. I felt like there was no air in my lungs but the room had none either.  A cold hand cupped my face and I opened my eyes.

The woman from my dreams was standing in front of me, she looked old and tired but she had runes all over her face. Was I looking at myself? She looked straight at me her eyes meeting mine.

“Go to him…. It’s your destiny to be with him”. Her voice was the only warm thing in the room.

Unexpectedly, Zara jumped from the bed and leaped at me, as I caught her the windows shut and the woman disappeared!

“Zara am I having a livid dream?” looking down at her I could tell she was happy and wagging her tail. She had no idea what just happened.

Who did she mean? Was the woman talking about Kilian or Dracula? Who was I supposed to be with? Kilian did wake Estrid up and took the spell off me, even thinking about him filled my body with a happy feeling. I didn’t have to think twice I grabbed my bag and filled it with my favourite weapons. I went to the armoury and grabbed anything “vampire killing” that I could find.

Kilian POV:

I heard the roar of her car yesterday and I knew she was leaving me. Maybe barging into her room was a bad idea in the end. Looking at my office it was all smashed, books ended up on the floor and a smashed glass was in every corner.

“Hey Kilian… Whoa what happened here?” I heard Seth’s voice from the door but I kept my head on the desk refusing to get up.

“You didn’t knock” hardly making any noise.

“Well, I’m more concerned about you than knocking. You missed the training session today” from the sound of his voice he was approaching my desk.

“No, you’re not” I sat up and looked at him “You’re only here because Katy has been avoiding you and you are scared that she is going to reject you” I raised my eyebrow and folded my arm, like any big brother would.

“Well about that… have you spoken to her?”

“No, I haven’t as I have more pressing matters to attend to” he knew what I was referring to. My own mate left me, she is one of a kind and she left me. Without a word, she was more worried about her reputation as a Daughter than her mate.

Knock Knock Knock

Seth shoot up and dusted himself off, by his reaction I could tell who was on the other side of the door.

“Come in” I answered.

“Hey Kilian, I just wanted to… Ohh” Katy paused as soon as she saw Seth.

“Sorry Katy, I will be out of your hair in a second I know you don’t want to see me” he was getting ready to leave when Katy stopped him.

“No, stay… What I was about to say before I was interrupted by you was that” she turned to look at me “Kilian I just wanted to let you know that I want to accept Seth, what do you think?” she was waiting for my response.

“You want to accept me? Ohh please don’t tease me” Seth’s eyes widened.

“I think she was asking me” I stood up and gave him a primal Alpha look. “Katy what changed your mind?”

“Well, it was actually Felicity who changed my mind” she revealed.

“Felicity?” me and Seth responded together.

“Yes Felicity, she told me that if even if a small part of me wants something I should give it a chance and as much as I hate to admit it. I do want you Seth I don’t want to spend the rest of my life thinking, what if? So yes, I Katy Castor accept you Seth Walker as my mate” she smiled as she accepted him.

Katy leaped into Seth’s arms and started to kiss him.  I could see the long-awaited smile on Seth’s face but what made me proud was the fact that my little sister finally accepted the love of her life. She always had a crush on him but this is a dream come true for her, as much as she hated to admit it.  When they left my office, I went back to read some more.

It did make me think, if Felicity has left me, she really did hate me, she couldn’t want me, not even a little bit, she wouldn’t spend the rest of her life regretting not giving me a chance because she doesn’t want me, I must accept that, I had to reject her.

I went back down to the kitchen after a few hours to get some water and go for a run, I needed some fresh air. I undressed in the training area and let Bane take over, I wasn’t in the state of mind to talk to him.

Felicity POV:

I drove back to New Orleans as soon as I left Columbia, Zara was asleep so I just concentrated on the drive back. When I pulled into Marble, Zara got out and howled at the top of her lungs.

“ZARA! What is wrong with you, you are going to wake the whole Estate!” she only wagged her tail and started running in circles. I grabbed my bag and made my way to the Daughters’ floor.

I knocked on Poppy’s door praying she would still be awake as soon as I knocked the door swung open and Poppy jumped at me.

“Where have you been and are you aware that Zara woke up all the dogs?” Poppy was screeching at the top of her lungs.

“I had to meet with Mother and I need to tell you something can I come in?”  I asked.

After I walked in, I sat on the bed and told her everything. I knew Mother told me not to say anything but I trusted Poppy with my life. She would understand my dilemma. As I was telling her she couldn’t stop crying.

“So… you’re telling me… you’re never going to be Mother?” sobbing in between the words.

“Poppy I came here for advice not a restatement of what I have just told you”.

“What do you expect me to say? You need to “mate” the Alpha in order to gain your full power, and you need that power to defeat Dracula but if you do then you won’t be a Mother”.

“Poppy that’s not advice!”

“I don’t think you should do it” she stood up from the bed and held my hands “You are Fury, the only blood heir to ever exist, you have been trained to be a Mother since the day you could walk, you don’t need a male to find your full power” Poppy said what I was feeling out loud.

I walked back to my room to find Zara already asleep on the bed. Before I could take my clothes off and finally sleep there was a knock on the door, I didn’t have enough energy to even say anything, I walked over to open the door and there he stood. Kilian was panting outside of my door with sweat falling down his face, he wasn’t wearing any clothes except his shorts.

 Kilian POV:

Whilst out on my run Bane brought me back.

Did you hear that?

No, I zoned out? What happened? Are we under attack?

No there was a dog howl at the Estate?

What does that matter the Estate is filled with dogs?

It was a dominant call, it was Zara!

As soon as Bane got to the training ground he shifted back. I grabbed some shorts and sprinted to her bedroom. The scent of chocolate got stronger and stronger. I was about to barge in before Bane calmed me down, I debated what to do. Would she be happy to see me? Would she be angry that I was  bothering her? But I had to see her face so I knocked on the door I had replaced.

She opened the door and I saw how tired she was, it looked like she hasn’t slept in weeks.  My heart was pounding either from the run or the fact that Felicity came back to me.

This whole time I thought I meant so little to her, that she despised me but seeing her face made up for it. She had no make-up on and hair tied up in a bun. Last time I was here she shut the door in my face. I went over to her and cupped her face; she closed her eyes and pushed her face into my hands. She wasn’t refusing my touch she craved it. The sparks all over my body came alive, I had her back, I had my mate back. She broke the contact and walked past me, closing the door quietly.

“I need to tell you something important” she whispered.

“So do I, I’ve done some research but that can wait…” I couldn’t go another second without being close to her. I grabbed her waist and pulled her closer to myself, without a thought she put her hands on either side of my head. She was so tired, any minute now she would collapse in my arms.  She was looking right at me and tears fell down her face.

“What’s wrong darling? Has someone hurt you?” my anger was growing inside of me. The thought of my mate being in pain was a feeling I never experienced before.

“Kiss me” she didn’t need to ask me twice. I leaned forward and pulled her in even closer, our lips grazing. I could feel the beating of our hearts, mine was pounding from running up the stairs yet hers was steady and paced. My eyes were still open and hers were closed, she was inviting me in, I pushed my lips against hers. Felicity moved her hands in my hair and pulled me in closer, my hands moved from her waist to her back. She started to breathe heavier and move her head, she wanted more and that’s exactly what she was going to get.

I picked her up and walked over to the bed and laid her on the covers softly, she opened her eyes and pulled me on top of her. Moving her delicate fingers across my torso down to my abs I returned the favour and grazed her body. I wasn’t expecting this at all I thought I had lost my mate and she came back to me; she came back wanting me.

“f**k the rules” I murmured and she just smiled.

Unexpectedly I was pushed to the side and rolled over, the moon was shining on her face as she looked at me.

“I still need to tell you something important” I had to calm myself down before listening to her.

“Go on then” I stroked her face and moved a few loose hairs away from her face.

“I am the one who has to defeat Dracula, I have Xavier’s blood running through mine. I am his only descendant and I am the wolf with the most power who can kill him” she whispered into my ear as she leaned in and started kissing my neck.

“I hate to say, ‘I told you so’ but I told you so”. Her kisses moving up and down my neck.

“Is it here?” she asked moving two fingers across my marking spot.

“Are you asking me about my marking spot?” she sat up with and just looked down, playing around with the blanket. “Felicity you’re scaring me now” I sat facing her.

“You’re my mate” she finally looked at me “My whole life I was under a spell from a witch, which my mother paid. My wolf has been hidden and only my true mate could awaken it. Since you brought Estrid out you’re my mate” a small tear ran down her face.

“So, you’re not rejecting me?” my heart was doing 100 mph at this point and Bane was whimpering in my head.

“Is it true a wolf will reach its full potential only after they are mated?” she asked.

“Yes, I am the Alpha and even unmated I am stronger than members of my pack but if I was to mate … you… my soul mate I would reach my full potential” she looked worried, scared, and confused all at once.

“What would happen to me?” she asked.

“As the Luna, you would gain you powers as well, you would be connected to every member of this pack if you were to become the Luna and you would be able to mind link all of them”.

“Would you?” she said softly.

“Would I mark you?” I got closer to her. “Felicity I can’t just mark you it has to be done when you accept me, and that’s if you accept me” my heart was breaking. “It has to be done when you become the Luna, when we have s*x and only when you c****x”.

Felicity’s face fell and she went to sit down on one of the chairs, she needed sleep and finding this information out was too much for her. She was holding her head in her hands, I knelt beside her and got down to her level.

“Felicity I am so happy you are back but you need to sleep, I can run you a hot bath….

“I accept you” she looked me in the eyes.

“What?”

“I Felicity Peters, the First Daughter accept you as my mate Kilian Castor”.
