It was a long ride home, I got of the car and went straight to the kitchen to get a bottle of water, then passed through the hallway that led to my study room and closed the door behind me. I walked back and forth, wondering what was wrong with me. The word "mate" made me uneasy because all I could think about was Zara, the Edwood girl who unfortunately happened to be my mate. Other than knowing her name, I do not even know anything about her, and I am already a complete mess.

As soon as the meeting ended, I told Dax, my assistant, to conduct a background check on Zara, including her biography and everything else I should know about her.

I told him to keep it private because I did not want Mother Luna to find out I had found my mate; otherwise, she would pressure me to bring her here. I sat on the chair beside me and rested my head, closed my eyes, and there she was, her scent still lingering on my clothes, my red-haired goddess, dark brown eyes, pale skin, a perfect dress that accentuated her curves, and whenever I looked at her, she had this confused expression that made her cute, her beauty radiant effortless even without knowing.

I was not having it when Lenrik was ogling on zara; it irritated me after the meeting, I dismissed him for going out of oder of course that wasn't the main reason. My wolf wanted me to do more, but it would be obvious I was attracted to her. my wolf was yarning for her touch and smell and she gave me the perfect opportunity to exercise that and I took advantage of that very moment, i requested her to take me to the wash room. I just needed one sniff to confirm she was my mate or i was just sexually attracted to her.

After we got there, I found myself hovering over her and sniffing her like a starving man, still in disbelief that she was my true mate. The desire to claim her right there on the spot was too strong to resist; whether she approved or not, I just wanted her for myself at the time, but when I realized she was part of my enemy, Edwood, I backed away from her.

I despised what she was doing to me; her eyes were pleading as if she wanted me to return to the initial position, where I needed to get my facts straight and not give her the impression that I was attracted to her.

Her face changed into a sad one when I told her no one was to find out she was my mate she looked shattered I wanted to know what she was thinking of, then i asked her if she has any qeutions for me, her question caught my attention for a moment, she looked shy yet confident.

I remained silent for a moment. I didn't know what to reply her but neither could I reassure her, telling her the truth was must best.

Zara, I call out her name, and then a knock came in, distracting me from my thoughts.

"Come in." My eyes were still close

"Alpha, I have done all the research, and this is the information I have on Zara."

I quickly opened my eyes it was Dax, my assistant holding a file on his hand. He flipped the page open and began.

"Zara Edwood, the daughter of the late Alpha of Edwood pack and also the step sister to Savik Edwood, her mother an Omega married the Alpha of the Edwood pack, both parents disseased at a tender age and left to fend for herself. she's known as the outcast of Edwood pack because of her mixed race. "That's enough, you can leave" I dismissed Dax I could bear to hear anything about Zara, it made me angry and filled with rage after knowing Zara is Savik step sister every good thing I had about her Litterally changed.

I got up and picked the glass cup on my desk and flung it across the wall as the glass shatter. I walked back and forth as I ran my hands through my hair. i can't accept her to be my mate, Never!!what was i even thinking, what made me feel us could be possible, my wolf was hurting, i was hurting she bears the name Edwood and the step sister of that bastered how come i didnt know Savik had a sister, the only thing for me now is to reject her but I have to inform mother first.

"So you are telling me you found your mate in Edwood pack?" Mother said with excitment written all over her face.

"yes mother".

"Well, that's a great news child, where is she? I have to meet her." she said, coming close to me for a hug.

I sated backwards, rejecting her hug.

"No, no,no mother, you are not getting it she is an EDWOOD, and I'm Regan it can never be possible." she frowned her face

"so?, is there any law that said an Alpha from regan and an Edwood girl can't be to gether?.

"it is our enemy we are talking about here, not just any girl, I can't have her to be my mate , my council and the pack won't even accept her,"

"I know son, I know we are not in good terms with the Edwoods pack, but the moon goddess wasn't follish when she chose her to be your mate.who knows she might be the one to end this generational beef between the two packs".

I gave a sacastic laugh."I'm sure the moon goddess made a big mistake, that I can tell you for show."

"Son, everything happens for a reason. Just give it time and think things through before making any decision." she gave me an assuring smile and patted my shoulder before leaving.

mother won't rest untill she find another way to try and convince me, it pisses me off to see she's not on my side have she forgotten what the Edwoods did to us many years ago, thinking about it filled me with unspoken anger. I need to sit and think things through before making my decision.
