A few weeks have passed since Max's death, and Austin and Jacob are still mourning his loss. They have been trying to move on with their lives, but they are constantly reminded of Max's presence in their lives. They miss his companionship and his loyalty. They often find themselves talking to Max, even though he's not there to respond. Sarah has moved on with her life to try and find her brother Sam.
As they are walking down the street jacob says: "i really miss Max."
Austin: "I know me too. He was a big part of our lives he was family. I can't believe he's gone."
*Jacob then starts to cry on Austin's shoulders*
Austin comforts him and reassures him it's going to be okay.
Just then as they are walking down the street again, they look in the distance, they see a familiar face. It's Sarah, the woman who stayed with them for awhile weeks after the nuclear h*******t. She looks different than they remember her, but they recognize her immediately. They approach her and they ask her what she's doing in the area.
Sarah: "Hey you two.." she says sadly
Austin: "what's wrong Sarah? you seem upset"
Sarah: "it's my brother, i still haven't found him. After all this time. Im starting to think the worst.
Jacob says: "I'm sure you'll find him. We can help you. You left us out of nowhere and we were worried. You left a note yea, but you never said goodbye."
Sarah: "I know guys I'm really sorry. I just.. I needed to find him."
Austin: "we understand. Family is very important*"
Sarah: "well guys I'm gonna go.. and keep looking for my brother."
Austin says: " you shouldn't be doing this alone. It's dangerous."
Sarah reassures Austin she can handle herself. She knows it's dangerous but she can't bear the thought of her brother being out there all alone. After all he's only 17 years old.
Over the next few days Jacob and Austin begin to rebuild the apartment because of the constant attacks that keep happening from the undead.
A few hours later Jacob hears a helicopter outside.
Jacob: "is that a helicopter??" Maybe it's the army!
Austin: "definitely the army. That's a B2-12 Helicopter."
The couple is shocked when they see the army arrive. They have heard rumors of a military presence in the area, but they never thought they would actually see them. The army is well-equipped and they are clearly prepared for battle. The group is not sure if they should trust the army or not, but they decide to wait and see what happens.
The army begins to set up a base in the area, and the couple watches from a distance. They are cautious, but they are also curious about what the army is doing. They notice that the army is also gathering survivors and bringing them back to their base. The group is unsure whether they should approach the army or not, but they decide to wait and see if they are safe to approach.
*Nightfall begins Jacob and Austin are in an argument*
Jacob: "This is our home Austin, I won't leave it!"
Austin: "babe, we aren't safe here, we would be much safer with the army."
Jacob: i don't know okay? I don't really want to be apart of them. I like it where it's at, just you and me. I don't want us being separated or anything."
Austin says calmly: "we won't be. I promise. But anywhere is better than here. Maybe they have a base somewhere outside the city too."
The argument between Austin and Jacob continues for a while, but eventually they reach an agreement. The next day they pack their things and they head towards the army camp.
As they approach the army camp, they notice that it is heavily guarded. There are soldiers everywhere and they are all armed to the teeth. They are immediately stopped by a soldier who asks them for their names and why they are there.
Soldier: "Who are you and what is your business approaching us?"
Austin and Jacob explain that they are survivors who are looking for a safe place to stay and they are willing to help out in any way they can. The soldier seems skeptical, but he lets them through and he escorts them to the command center.
They are led to a tent where they meet with the commander of the army.
Jacob: "this is actually incredible."
*Austin rolls his eyes* "I told you so."
The commander is a tough-looking man who is clearly in charge. He listens to their story and he seems impressed by their willingness to help. He tells them that they are welcome to stay at the camp and he offers them a job as soldiers. Austin and Jacob are surprised by the offer, and deny it at first, but they accept it. They are excited to be part of the army and they are looking forward to helping protect the camp and the people inside it.
The next few weeks are tough for Austin and Jacob. They are put through rigorous training and they are constantly tested to see if they are fit to be soldiers. They learn how to use various weapons and they are taught how to work as a team. They also learn how to scavenge for supplies and how to survive in the harsh conditions of the post-apocalyptic world. Despite the challenges, they are both determined to prove themselves and to make a difference in the army.
Austin: "this is amazing!" I feel so alive being a soldier."
Jacob: "well at least YOUR legs aren't feeling jelly from all this."
Austin: "Oh they are I just ignore it"
*Later that night Jacob and Austin decide to shower together*
They undress and they step into the shower together. The warm water feels good on their skin and they begin to relax. They start to wash each other's backs and enjoy the closeness and intimacy of the moment.
Austin leans in and he kisses Jacob's back, moving down towards his legs. Jacob shivers with pleasure as Austin's lips brush against his skin. He closes his eyes and he leans back, enjoying the sensation. Austin continues to kiss Jacob's legs, moving slowly and sensually. Jacob can feel the heat rising inside him and he begins to get excited. The two decide to have intimacy with each other. After the shower they go to bed, and begin to cuddle, Falling asleep peacefully into each other's arms.
