The situation escalated, and rumors began to swirl. The phrase “cold-blooded Luna, abandoning Alpha and her kin for self-preservation" spread rapidly throughout the temporary camp. My name and identity were getting pointed out by everyone. The relentless insults and curses rained down on me like a second wave of Rogue attacks drowning me instantly. “What a selfish coward! This wolf deserves to be nailed to the pack's shame pole!" “Maybe Alpha should just kick her out! We don't need a wolf without as ense of collective honor in the Black Moon Pack!" “An omega, how dare she be so malicious?" she's a disgrace to the pack!" I was held captive by Alpha Marcus in a tent, the sound of stones being thrown occasionally punctuating the air. once-friendly neighbors now looked at me as if I were just a pile of garbage. My parents had died in battle years ago, and now l was truly alone. I shut down all my senses, refusing to listen or look, The world fell silent in an instant. I didn't try to argue or clarify anything.l just endured it all in silence. The pack needed to “boost morale”and “unify their thoughts," so they decided to hold a grand meeting to“honor heroes" while also “judging the sinners.” On the day of the assembly, the central clearing of the pack was filled with werewolves. Alpha Marcus, Beta Felix, and the elders were seated prominently on the central stone platform. A few warriors “invited” me to the center of the field, like a sinner awaiting public execution. Beta Felix looked at me with disappointment. "Elena, no matter what happens today, keep your attitude in check.Apologize to Alpha Marcus and everyone else, the pack might consider lightening the punishment.” I didn't speak, just nodded. Alpha Marcus, Selena, and a few surviving warriors approached the stone platform amidst a roar of cheers. They looked like they had recovered well, their faces radiating relief and pride from having survived. Selena, especially, wore a dress made from the softest white fox fur, making her appear even more vulnerable. With an elevated voice, she ensured everyone could hear her, her tone choked and eyes glistening. “Thank you all for your concern.” “This experience will stick with me forever. In my most dangerous moments, it was my comrades and Alpha Marcus who didn't abandon me,giving me the courage to survive. As she spoke, she cast a tender glance toward Alpha Marcus.” “It's in such dire moments that l truly see who cares for the pack and who only looks after themselves. Her intent was clear, and after her statement, she subtly glanced in my direction. A wave of whispers erupted from the crowd below. Selena wasn't finished. She took a deep breath, as if steeling herself for what was next. “I know that some of you may have misunderstandings about what happened back then.” “My words might not hold much weight, but there was a courageous warrior who risked his life-Beta Garrick-who can testify to everything he witnessed.”
