Kadence watched as Matt gently checked over Biscuit, treating her like a member of the family instead of just another animal on his farm; admiring as his muscles bunched under his shirt, until a little tug at her sleeve had her jolted back into the present.
“Miss Mitchell?” Hayden called shyly, “I need to go to the bathroom.”
“Oh, of course, sweetie.” Kadence stood and looked around. She couldn’t just walk off with all of the children still sitting there and was relieved to see Dee making her way back towards the group, trays of food in both hands. “Students, if anyone needs to go to the bathroom, we are making a trip there now.”
