Crowded Streets

PROLOGUE

"Its raining hurry up oh my gosh" I said while running towards the restaurant with my broken umbrella.

"s**t, is this the right restaurant kim?" My friend haley asked.

"I guess so, they said it's the nearest japanese restaurant so-"

"HEY GIRLS OMG COME HERE!!"

"GIRLS!!"

"HEY HERE"

Here they are...

Our friends yelling at us. They've always been so loud and noisy, and that's the best part, i love my girls so much.

Its friday lunch, and Ara invited us to have lunch near her school, unfortunately it's a japanese resto, I don't like eating japanese foods but oh well, here we are, i could take a bite maybe.

I've always been that silent friend, I don't like talking that much, unless its tea haha just kidding. Im in my highschool years, life isn't that stressful yet tho, im keeping up with schoolworks.

"Omg kim i missed you!" Erich told me while eating her salad

I smiled to her and whispered that i missed her too.

They're fun, i enjoyed listening to the topic, it's about whale sharks, they're so random and cute. Im just playing with my food, sometimes they would ask me stuff so I wouldn't be left out from the conversation.

"Diba top student ka erich? then why are you bobo?" Zo sarcastically asked and everyone laughed, I saw erich getting kinda offended but of course she's erich, she will fight back!

"Shut up kapit na nga lang grades mo wala ka pang jowa" Erich chuckled.

Oh my gosh, I was just peacefully eating! bakit naman pinag aawayan na ang whale sharks, hindi naman yun highlight sa life eh.

"Y'all better listen to me kasi totoo naman! Whale sharks don't use their teeth to eat" Erich said after.

I know Zo is just teasing her because she gets mad easily, they all look so happy, it's enough to make me smile.

"Pa confirm nyo nga yan kay kim, alam niya ata yan eh" haley then said after laughing so hard.

"Hoy! are you doubting my answer?!"

"Di ako sure basta tanong mo nalang kay kim"

Ohhh myyy gosshhhhh

"Erich is right" I said, almost a whisper, i really don't like my voice that much and as much as possible i wanna stay silent all the time.

"Hina ng boses mo mam, pero fine, talo ka zo, ikaw bobo dito kaya ikaw na magbayad ng food today, wala kami pera hehe" mich said.

I don't think they'd want zo to pay, i mean the bill is like almost 5k! that's her monthly allowance, baka wala na siyang pera pang transportation. Bakit ba kasi sa japanese restaurant pa kami kumain, pwede naman sa unli chicken wings sa mall, dito pa talaga... this place is a nightmare to me!

I would help her pay pero I haven't received my allowance yet eh. Besides, Haley and Ara added 1k each para hindi 5k gastos ni Zo, kawawa naman.

The weather today is so good, it's cold, he used to give me his hoodie if magkasama kami with this weather, tapos bili kami ng frostbites sa mall because cold weather means cold treats kahit sobrang lamig na.

his warm embrace was enough to melt my cold heart.

I was paying attention to Isabela talking about the rain, not until– I saw him.

I saw him walk up to that door, holding his phone and wearing his favorite black hoodie with his hair down. He still looks amazing. It felt like my whole life stopped when he started walking towards our table, my brain and heart couldn't process what was going on. I thought he was gonna at least look at my eyes, but he walked pass me and sat down beside her.

Why am I expecting for him to look?! Hindi naman ako tanga pero if its him, handa akong maging tanga.

Its him, right? its him... he's here...

I wanted to speak, i wanted to call his name. Something was stopping me, i know what it is, he's with her already, i should stop what im feeling.

I can't believe that he's here, in the same table, talking to his friend, my friends.

I haven't seen him for months.

but I've heard so much, too much.

"Hey bae!" she said, i saw him kissing the side of her head as his way to say hi back.

and just like that, i felt the whole world turned grey again.

"Kim are you okay?" Mich asked, she probably noticed me getting uncomfortable.

"s**t um, i need to go, emergency lang" i excused myself, smiling to hide the pain, while getting my bag, im gonna run away to hide my watery eyes.

I was about to open the glass door but i stopped when I could see from my peripheral vision that he's staring at me...

a teardrop fell from my eyes...

his stares still haunts me.

Shit.

No way.

I wiped my tears and bravely looked at him and from distance I saw how his eyes was still pinned on me as if he didn't hurt me before.

As if he didn't ruin me,

at all.
