Chapter 7: The cabin

Aliyah’s POV “Who does he think he is?!” I slammed the files on the seat, allowing them to fly in different directions. Did he think I was something that he could own? My throat itched from the sniffles I suppressed. Everything was happening too fast for me to understand. One minute, I was already imagining myself with riches, but now I'm in the middle of my life being in danger, and I was being bargained like livestock to that conceited bastard. My mind raced with questions. Was Magnus involved with that man that spoke to me? What would happen if I didn't take the contract? Where was he taking me? My head ached from tears and regret and I could only distract myself by looking out the window in silence as I hugged myself tightly. Before long, the jet began to lower from above the clouds and I could see the blue water that went on for miles and miles. “Woah,” I gasped, the sight was absolutely breathtaking and for a brief moment I forgot my worries as I stared in awe of the sight. “Where are we?” Soon we dropped at what seemed like a private airport and there were men wearing nothing but black standing outside a Rover. Magnus offered me a hand to help me come down the flight of stairs with a smug look on his face, but I got up, completely ignoring him and went down myself. Ignoring his friend as well. I was pregnant, not defenseless. I got into the car but avoided all eye contact with him. Although his friend did not accompany us, I didn't care to ask why. The air felt hot from the heat of our proximity. I hated every second of having to pretend he wasn't there. He was probably scheming on how to force me to sign that contract. I won't let him take advantage of me so easily. Just as I began to count the buildings we passed in a bid to distract myself, I could feel Magnus's body language change as he leaned forward, and my heart skipped a beat for a reason I couldn't explain. I despised how much I was so aware of him even when he was inches away from me and the worst part was that I couldn't seem to look away. Soon he began to unbutton his shirt, taking his time and my gaze followed the precision of his fingers. He peeled his shirt off, and I gulped in the air at the sight of his god-like body. My gaze trailed from his strong broad shoulders down to toned arms and back. But then I noticed the scratches on his body. Flashbacks from the fall came rushing in, and I covered my lips to prevent me from gasping too loud. He had risked his life to save me. My anger was suddenly replaced with sympathy then guilt as I watched him disinfect the affected areas. “Thank you for saving me back there,” I said, finally breaking the thick silence. He responded with a grunt with his eyes glued to his phone, and suddenly I wished I hadn't said it. Cocky bastard. He put on a new shirt but left his abs exposed, and he leaned in as the sunlight glistened on his strong abs. It took everything to tear my stare away, and I turned it to the window. “It's okay to stare, Mio Fiore, not many can resist.” I resisted the urge to respond and continued to look outside. “I'm talking to you,” he said, his hand slowly gripping my thigh, and before I could react, he pulled me so close to him and my chest collided with his. He cupped my face and lowered his inches away from mine and my core pulsated as a patch of wetness began to form in my panties. “When I talk to you, I want a response.” His voice was deep and raspy, like he wanted to undress me with the sound of his voice. “Let go of me,” I hissed. A seductive smirk spread across his face. “Make me.” The wetness began to spread, and my anger began to mix with lust as I remained still. His smile spread wider, and I could feel the heat of his lips on my ear as his face trailed to the side of my head. I bit my lip shamelessly anticipating his kiss with eyes closed. “I thought so,” he whispered before he released me. My eyes opened, and I hated myself for the disappointment I felt. I bit my tongue in a bid to stop myself from protesting, but my eyes burned with hate. “I preferred the version of you that begged me to sleep with you,” he said right before a call came in. I was still so flustered from the ordeal that I couldn't even give a response and soon his whole attention went back to his device. I shook myself out of his grip, and suddenly I caught myself being jealous of the phone. How was that even possible? I barely knew this man. Snap out of it, Aliyah. After driving for over twenty minutes in total torture of his lingering touch and silence, I finally brought myself to peep at the phone, but it was then that the car halted abruptly. “We're here,” Magnus said, stepping out of the car. “Where is here?” I asked, stepping out as well. “You'll see” The first thing that caught my attention was the water. We were so close to it now as we were at the edge of the land. “She's beautiful, I know,” Magnus said suddenly behind me. I nodded, taking in the view. The men in black went into the car and drove off, and before I could ask, another man in a speedboat came sailing in and halted in front of us. The speed boat looked a lot more luxurious than what I'd seen before, it was far more massive than the regular ones but smaller than a yacht. Heck, you could fit an apartment in there with the tinted glasses and all. “I'm ready to take you to your destination, sir,” the man said. “Where are we going?” I asked in confusion. There was only water here. Surely he wasn't planning on dumping me in the middle of the ocean. I took a step back cautiously, but Magnus lifted me up and the world suddenly went upside down as soon as he placed me on his shoulder like a rag doll. “Hey, put me down!” I protested, fighting in the air in a futile attempt to get him to drop me. He entered the boat and it started moving immediately. He had no problems carrying me to the upper deck and the bay got smaller and smaller as we went deeper into the ocean. “If you stop acting like a brat, I might consider letting you go,” he teased. “Go to hell,” I spat. “Then you've left me with no choice,” he said as his grip tightened around my waist with the hand on which shoulder I was dangling on and then around my legs with the free hand, so I wouldn't be able to move. “Let me go!” I hit his back as hard as I could. “No,” he said without flinching. “I hate you!” “And I could do this all day.” Soon I grew tired, and he could sense it as my body went limp on his shoulders. It was only then that he brought me down gently. I seized the opportunity to slap him as hard as I could, but he grabbed my hand, pinning it to the top of the boat. “You really didn't think I'd let you slap me twice in a row,” he said as his cocky grin showed. I attempted to use my other hand, but he caught it and pressed it behind my back. “You have to be a lot faster than that,” he said, and my cheeks burned from the proximity. “We've reached the island, sir,” yelled the driver, and Magnus let go of me, walking down to be with the driver. I looked out the window and caught sight of the island getting bigger and bigger in our view. The closer we got, the more I realized just how big it was. The greenery shone under the bright sun. We reached the island and the land went on for miles and miles and right in the center was a cabin the size of a mansion. The speed boat turned around slowly and before long it was completely engulfed in the sea and looked like a little spec on water. Magnus opened the door and the smell of dew and oak welcomed me the moment I stepped in. “Welcome to my home. It's the safest place on earth. “How long would I be staying here?” “For as long as you need to” I nodded with understanding. He showed me to a room and gave me an oversized shirt to wear after I had freshened up. It smelled so much like him and I had to stop myself from moaning. “The room will have everything you need to freshen up,” he said. I went in, undressed and got in the shower. I let the warm water wash away all the stress and uncertainty and, after I was done, I let myself walk naked into the room without a care in the world. All I could think of was sinking deep into bed. My muscles were weak from the whole ordeal. It wasn't until I caught a shadow that wasn't mine that I realized I wasn't alone. My breath hitched and I almost screamed. “What are you doing here, you pervert?” I yelled as I scurried to cover myself with the shirt. “I own the place,” he said, sounding bored. “This is supposed to be my room.” “No, it's mine.” My brows knitted in confusion. “This is an invasion of privacy!” “Not in my house, Mio Fiore” I clung to the shirt and managed to pick up a pillow and throw it at him, which barely did any damage. He merely laid down on the bed and closed his eyes. “Where would I sleep?” “On the same bed I'm sleeping.” “What?!”
