But there was no need for that. The man was faster.
He knocked Felix out with hit using the butt of his gun.
Felix went instantly to the floor.
And then the man turned and looked at Felix’s remaining followers.
“Do you want me to repeat myself?” He asked them.
They looked down at their friend on the floor and they quickly let go of Selina realising that it could be them next or worse.
“Let’s get out of here.” They said as they ran away, eventually leaving Felix on the floor.
Selina was still in shock and had not yet been able to get up.
She breathed heavily as she watched him progress towards her.
Then without a word, he scooped her up in his arms and lifted her from the ground.
He said nothing, neither did she.
She was not scared to him, and not because he had just saved her from Felix and his bunch of vagabond of friends. But she just felt safe with him.
She saw him walk towards a black jeep and soon he opened the door for her and he gently set her on the passenger seat in front, put on her seat belt, then he closed the door shut and she saw him walk around to his own side.
He opened the door and got in.
He turned and looked at her and then he gently touched her broken lip.
She shook at his touch.
“Don’t worry he is never going to hurt you again.” He promised her.
“But sir. You don’t know who these people and what they can do to you. You should never have done that to him. Felix Ricardo’s father is a very wealthy man in these our parts.” She said. “He would come for you. Send me to you for what you did to his son.”
“Ricardo huh?” He laughed gently.
She nodded.
“It would be fine.” He said.
Was he crazy? Felix’s father was rumoured to be a Mafia Boss. He could have him killed. He was not understanding what she was saying.
“Sir please.” She said. “I beg of you. You do not understand what I mean by all of this. Felix’s father is rumored to be in the Mafia. He can kill you please.”
He laughed again.
Was he mad? Why was he laughing?
“You don’t know these parts you are new here.” I said now very much afraid for this man who was not even afraid of his own life.
“Don’t worry like I said he would not doing anything to hurt you again in his life. And don’t worry about me. Nothing is going to happen to me.” He assured her. “Okay?”
She nodded slowly.
He started the car and she looked at him in surprise.
“You did not ask for where I live?” She asked him.
“Your parents and family would want you to be fine before I bring you home.” He said. “I know they would not want to be distraught by your appearance and want to know what happened to you.”
She shook her head.
“I have no mother nor siblings. I only have my father. And he is out of Syracuse on business.” She told him.
He smiled. “Then do not worry. I will take you somewhere you can be treated and gotten new clothes.”
Then she remembered her clothes and she quickly covered her half naked body with what was left of it.
“My point exactly.” He said as he drove.
“But sir please you do not need to worry.” She begged him. “I would be fine.”
“And I insist that you stay put with me, is that I can help you get yourself cleaned up. Your wound could be infected.” He told her.
Then he turned away and faced the road and she was hundred percent sure that even though she spoke to him, he was not going to answer her.
He had said his final words.
They drove in silence and soon they reached a building.
It looked like a restaurant. In fact, it was a restaurant.
He got out of his car and walked round to her side.
Then he opened the door for her.
He extended his hand to help her out.
She shook her head.
“No please.” She begged him. “I can do this on my own thank you.”
Not just because she felt Ahhh she could walk on her own, but she was sure people were inside and she did not want them seeing that he was carrying her inside.
She was quite shy and modest.
He looked at her for a second and then just as her feet reached the ground, she fell down instantly.
But he caught her before she could even reach the floor and immediately transferred her to hit arms.
“You see.” He said. “You are still very much shaken.”
He carried her and she did not protest again.
He carried her into the bright restaurant and Selina looked around.
It was a restaurant that someone like her could never enter she was sure.
She saw him walk up to a very beautiful woman.
“Welcome back Sir, how can I help you?” She asked him,
“I would just be headed to the back.” He said .
“Of course.” She nodded and she let him pass.
And Selina hid her face in his chest so that no one could see that he was carrying her inside like a baby.
She should have not even bothered because they were all acting normal in the restaurant and carrying on like it was a normal work night.
After so many walk around, she lifted her head from his chest and saw that they were now in a large spacious room.
It was like a living room. But a very expensive one .
He gently out her down on one of the couch.
“Wait here for me.” He told her.
And he left her.
