LEONARDO’S POV
Once Selina was out of sight, Leonardo started his car and drove off.
He was furious. Beyond words in rage.
He had had to compose his anger and keep it all under check.
So Angelo Riccardo was goring around Syracuse acting like he was the boss. Acting like he owned Syracuse.
He had just left town and this was the mess he was facing.
When Selina had started that Felix Ricardo’s father was a big wealthy lan, he ad assumed that it was probably just any body and even also assumed that the name was coincidence.
But when she had said that he was a Mafia Boss, he was sure.
Hundred percent sure that it was all Angelo.
So Angelo thought he could run his town.
He made his own laws and his men followed him. None of the men under him made their own laws.
That was the pledge. That was the sworn oath of the Mafia family.
Angelo Riccardo was a member of the Mafia Family, but he was in a bit high rank.
Because he had married into the family, precisely Leonardo’s distant aunt, he had had a way into the Mafia.
It was not new business that the Mafia never recruited outsiders.
You had to be inside the family.
You had to belong to the family.
But now Ricardo was trying to be so smart.
He knew that this was how coups started. Attempted assassinations, soon he would gain support from other members of the Mafia family and want to take over.
What disgusted Leonardo most was the fact that Angelo’s stupid son was going around saying things.
Making word around town of who he was.
He wished he had killed the brat himself.
God what a bloody mess the town was becoming.
He had just met Selina but his blood boiled for her.
His blood had boiled when he had seen the injuries Felix had given her.
He had even gotten more furious when he had been told that Felix had been her first kissed
Had he not been there tonight, stalking her, Felix would have r***d her and gotten away with it.
He grabbed his phone and made a quick call.
“Marcel.” He said.
Marcel was his top guard in Syracuse. Everything that happened in Syracuse he was aware of, nothing ever escaped him.
And that was why Leonardo had planted him there.
“What do you know about Angelo Ricardo?” He asked him.
“Sir i had been waiting for your arrival. I had hoped that I would have met you today and discussed the matters at hand with you.” Marcel said .
“What matters?” He asked as he sped across the highway.
“I have information that Ricardo is planning an assassination. He had been planning to take over the Mafia family and be his own boss here.” Marcel said .
Leonardo smiled.
The lucky bastard.
Was it also coincidence that Selina had been here tonight or it was just fate.
“How long has this been going on?”
“For about a few weeks.” He said. “But I had to gather more information before I alerted you.”
“And why am I just knowing now?” Leonardo asked irritated.
“You were coming in today and we were supposed to meet and discuss.” Marcel said.
It was true. He actually was supposed to have a meeting with Marcel today.
“Well gather the termination squad.” He said. “We’re going to pay old Angelo a visit tonight.”
Then it occurred to Leonardo, that was n way in hell that Angelo Ricardo was able to handle all of this without so much funding.
Angelo was rich yes, but then not that rich. He knew what he could do and what he could not do.
He knew who could afford what and what they could not at the same time.
“Do you think we are going to inform your father?” Marcel asked Him. “He is old and almost retired yes, but then he would want to know in on this.”
“I am the one making the decisions here not Don Alfonso.” Leonardo replied sternly.
He had his father had a very very bad relationship.
Of course it was Don Alfonso who had taught Leonardo himself how to handle the Mafia in case one day he was no longer there.
But after he had been unable to nab his mother’s murdered, Don Alfonso had given up and retired to his lavish Island where he frequently married a new wife every six month and divorced the last .
He had no business in the Mafia cases anymore. He could still be the Don, the he’s dog the Mafia, Leonardo knew, but Leonardo had already been making his own decision on how to handle the Mafia for a long time now.
And he had not had to consult him.
This would be his first wipe out.
The one rule they had in the Mafia family was no betrayal.
Betrayal was a heavy sun, the deadliest in the Mafia family.
If you were betrayed the punishment was death, they all knew that.
One of hi great grandfathers had killed his Favorite son as he was in tears when he discovered that he had been plotting against him.
There was truly no mercy for those who betrayed the Mafia and thanks to his incident with Selina, he probably would have never found out what would have happened to him.
Perhaps he would have been dead by now.
Who knew?
Leonardo called Cam on the phone.
“Cam where are you?” He asked her.
“I am in the mansion.” She replied.
“I need you to open the accounts and run the files on Angelo. I want to find any loopholes. Anywhere at all. Because money must have been missing and being shifted.” He said.
“So what am I liking for exactly?” She asked him.
“Anything and everything suspicious.” He said and then he ended the call.
A few minutes later, he got a call. It was Cam.
“You were right. Money was being shifted.” She said. “But it was done so perfectly and covered up that no one would have noticed it. I had to even make some backings before I could find it.”
“Was the accountant aware?” He asked.
“He had to be. From what I have, he was the one who was covering up the entire thing.” She said. “An entirely clean slate.”
He was coming for them all of them and they had absolutely no idea.
