Agent Toni Delle always gets her man. Except for one, who abandoned her and then disappeared two years ago.

These days, all she needs is her work. With her partner, a canine robot named Mate, and Zach, her attitude-enabled shipboard Computer Intelligence Interface, Toni is now older and wiser. But she also has enough trust issues to blockade a planet.

Her latest mission is a doozy: find and stop a deadly new weapon that’s being smuggled into the hands of criminals all over the galaxy. And hey, while she’s at it, perhaps find the missing weapons designer linked to these shipments.

It’s got all the things she loves about her job—danger, mystery, interstellar travel, drinking at dive bars—but also brings back specters from the past. Because her only lead to track down the weapons has been provided by the Smuggler, and now he says he wants to help.

But then again, he’s not the only one capable of betrayal.
