Chapter 5

Its time. I wiggled uncomfortably in the saddle. Tulai had forced me to learn how to ride a horse, but I was by no means comfortable. I heard her sharp “tsk” behind me and I straightened my posture. We were riding to the manor in style to hand over my fathers letter. I had tried everything I could think of to get that letter unsealed but it hadn’t worked. I snuck a peek at the man riding next to me. He had arrived two days ago and was in an absolutely foul temper. “Captain Garret.”  He turned to me without speaking. His eyes still cropped me out with their total blackness. “What will happen if they refuse to accept me?” He turned back away from me. “I couldn’t say.” I shook my head trying to ignore the chaffing of my legs. This was going to be a long day. ================================================================= Tristans POV He stood by the window as the hall burst into a flurry of action. Apparently a girl known to the family was coming to the manor and it was causing quite the stir. It would seem there was a history of infidelity with the late Mrs. Valis if their eldest son, Robert was to be believed.  “Oh my goodness. Thats- that’s not possible”  He overheard some maids staring out another window. Interest captured he walked out onto the balcony to watch the approach of this woman. “Well now, thats unexpected.” A small group of people moved toward the manor entrance. An old bent over woman accompanied a beautiful woman. She had long black hair that swept down to her knees and wore a tight fitted black gown that was giving her breasts an incredible perspective from up here. His vision was blocked by a man who must be nearly 8 feet and was clearly of demon blood. Several other people followed around them. “A lone female traveling with a demon companion? I think I’m going to enjoy this.”  “Your Highness! Lord Valis is asking for your assistance. He is hesitant to deal with the demon on his own.” Tristian nodded unsurprised. He made his way to the main hall. Shouts were starting to get louder as he entered the room. The guards were clearly not comfortable with the large demon who stood in the room, while the demon stood without concern for the men shouting at him to leave. The small woman with me seemed to be similarly unconcerned with the threats although she did take a few steps closer to the big man.  “Calm them down.” Tristan said to his guard. The captain of his guard was very good handling chaos. The man quickly organized the guards and sent them out of the room.  Tristan moved towards the front of the room trading assessing looks with the giant demon. The demon seemed to recognize his sword. Thats good. He would be less likely to try fight if he recognized his opponent. His breath caught as he got the open look of the woman in question. Something about her eyes and manner was completely mesmerizing. Her eyes had an icy blue color that almost seemed white her tiny body was held so tightly now that he was closer. He could see that she was nervous and having a hard time pretending otherwise.  “What is the meaning of this?” A thunderous voice filled the room as Lord Valis and his sons came into the room. The woman visibly recoiled when they entered stepping behind the giant. The giant man remained cooly indifferent his body completely relaxed. Tristan knew better than to think that meant the giant was not ready to immediately kill. He recognized the dark blue skin and heavy braids going down his back. This demon was a high ranking warrior in the Dark Realm. If rumor was true then his rank was earned in to the death combat in the frosted dungeon plains.  “Meliana-“ Robert took a quick step towards the woman before suddenly seeing the giant demon. “What is that?” “I came to bring you a letter from my father. My real father.” She handed a letter to her servant who quickly gave it to Lord Valis and returned to the woman side. Her eyes kept drifting to Robert looking like a scared animal. “Father?” Robert repeated, his fist clenched in clear anger Lord Valis tore the letter open with a scowl. His face paled immediately and he stared in sudden fear at the woman. “I don’t know how you pulled this off girl but this cannot be true. Camela would never have—“  Robert snatched the letter from his father his getting bigger as he read. “You are even more disgusting then we thought.” He laughed loudly, shaking his head. “You are a freak.” Lord Valis roughly slapped his sons face sending the man tumbling into the wall. He was still a monster of a man even in his older age. He turned back to the small group and stiffly bowed. “Please do not take offense to my son. I will make sure he repays your Miss for his words.” The demon nodded his head slightly. Tristan was burning with curiosity who is this woman? “Lord Valis? You asked for me?” “Ah, Prince. Allow me to introduce these people.” He motioned to the small group. “We will be providing shelter for the missing daughter of King Daemon until the time he calls for her.” The room went completely still. Tristan felt the shock clear on his face. The missing daughter? This girl made the King of the Demon Realms all but disappear and allowed his wife family to take over the kingdom. It was rumored that she wasn’t full blooded and it was incredibly clear at this moment that she was human. She had no visible markings of a demon. The woman looked just as shocked as the rest turning to look at the older woman with her. “Tulai?” The older woman stepped forward and spoke in a low voice “May I introduce the daughter of King Daemon and Guardian Camela. I posses the witnesses and proof of her heritage. She is in possession of the Kings sigil and the Guardians mark. She is half demon half human and she has yet to develop into her demon body so is unable to return to her family home for the time being.” ++++++++++= Melianas POV I was shocked and angry. Why didn’t my father tell me who he was and who I am? The next few minutes became a blur as Eleanor and the other girls were filled in on the latest news. I had a great deal of satisfaction when Eleanor screamed at the sight of my new guard.  He was a rude awful man- demon, but he was utterly fearless. I was really grateful for his presence.  My eyes kept drifting to the man who was silently watching this whole fiasco. My guard seemed to be incredibly wary of him and the man had seemed very comfortable with my demons presence in the room.  Danger. Only a dangerous man would be comfortable. A dangerously gorgeous man. His blonde hair was tied back in a warrior style and it showed his straight jaw and defined shoulders. He was clearly a touch above the rest. And he would not stop staring at me although I couldn’t read his eyes. His look made me uncomfortable in a way that stirred some odd sensations in my body.  I had a hard time focusing on the chatter of the women when he was looking at me and I caught his look of disgust when my half sisters came into the room. That definitely gave him extra points. Prince huh? A hot prince who hated my sisters and was practically undressing me with his eyes? I felt a delicious tingle in my body at the thought.  I looked away from him and focused on the chaos in front of me. It was time to end this for now. “Now that you have received the news and agreed to the terms I would like to be shown to the area of the manor we will be staying in. The size of my company will be increasing over the next few days as more of my attendants will be arriving. I would also like to request that we are placed on the darker side of the manor so there is less stress on my attendants in the future.” “You can sleep in the horse stables” Eleanor hissed. “I don’t care who is lying for you, but we will never allow this to happen you mutt.” Robert stood behind her looking at me thoughtfully “No, this is a good thing. Now even her death would be seen as a pleasing event.” My guard moved so fast no ones eyes even saw him step towards Robert a large sword pressed against his neck. “I would enjoy your puny attempts, human.” He deep voice hushing the room. “It would give me all the excuse I need for your miserable life to end. No self respecting male would force himself on a child and beat her endlessly. I would love to end your life for touching my mistress. Please come visit us.” Oh no. This isn’t good. I quickly stepped forward and placed a hand on the big mans forearm. “I think he understands, Captain Garrett.” The captain didn’t move. His presence overwhelming my pitiful half brother. “Please don’t—“ He whimpered but stopped speaking when he felt the blade slip closer to his neck with his words. His eyes were filling with tears. “If you do not control your man I will have him forcibly removed and flogged for assaulting us.” Lord Valis said with authority. “Captain.” I said looking up at the big man. “I very much enjoyed seeing this happen, however I think he understands.” The giant looked down at me and in one smooth motion sheathed his sword and hoisted me up like a bag of potatoes “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” I screeched “I don’t trust these humans. Especially not him” He gestured to the prince who I was shocked to see standing very close to us, his hand on his blade. “We will be leaving now. Let is be understood that all contact with my mistress will go through me. No one touches her without my permission. Show us our rooms now.” Lord Valis motioned for a servant to escort us. “Ok well put me down!” I was getting tired of hovering in the air and feeling like a child.  “I dont trust you either. Probably go run into some place that only small humans can find. I need you to sit still until we get more guards. That prince is going to be a problem.” The last thing I saw was a look of curiosity on the princes face as the doors were closing. I couldn’t understand why that man made me so weak inside but I think I agreed with the Captain. This prince could really be a problem.  “I still don’t care! Put” - “Me” - “Down!” Each word punctuated with my fists into his back.  The giant chuckled. “If you keep that up you will just hurt yourself.” This irritated me further because my hands were absolutely throbbing from trying to hit him. What were these demons made of?! “How is this fine? And who gave you the authority to decide who speaks to me!” “I choose because im bigger and stronger. I choose because I saw that look you gave that prince. I do not trust you little human and until you are developed into a demon and I am satisfied you will be able to kick his ass I will be making these decisions for you.” And he added as an afterthought “Your father was very adamant that you were not to be involved with any men. Which I find odd considering—“ he cut off suddenly “Consider what?! You mean he doesn’t want me with a human!” Maybe Tulai was right again “He is stupid. I grew up as a human obviously I would be drawn to human men! I don’t even know how—“ I blushed a deep red at the thought and didn’t finish it out loud/ How would that even work? I assumed that Captain Garretts — man parts — what did demons call it? Would be proportionate to his size and that was terrifying. Nope. Nope. Nope. Im sticking to humans thank you! Not to mention everything looked so different with demons. I just don’t think I could find a demon attractive. Not even a small amount. Sorry father, but this is our first fight.  Captain Garrett finally set me down after carrying me clear across the manor. He didn’t even have the decency to look somewhat tired. Fine I get that the demons are stronger but I still think I should be able to do what I want. As he turned to leave me I reached out for his arm again. “Captain?” His dark eyes turned back to me. “I really appreciate you standing up for me. I still believe it was ill advised to pull a sword on our hosts son, but no one has ever stood up for me before. Im really glad you were there. I don’t think I could’ve stood my ground without you.” His blank face made me ramble “I know you don’t like me and I think you must be here against your will. I am sorry for that. I just hope that by the end of all this you won’t hate me anymore. I-“ He raised a hand and spoke “I have no right to any opinions. I only did my job. If I have my way this will end with you staying here and not disrupting the delicate balance of the Realm. I believe you are weak and incapable no matter your blood line. Maybe you even fooled the King. You are causing problems and I foresee nothing but trouble from your existence. All I know is that he asked me very specifically to keep you safe. So I will. Understand that nothing I do is for your sake, human.” He shut the door quietly behind him after he stopped talking. I don’t know why his words stung me so much. I guess I thought that his sticking up for me was because he felt a connection to me. Its alot to ask anyone to be here. I know that staying away from his Realm was very difficult and I was told it could be incredibly painful. I vowed to change his mind about me. If I was going to move forward with this new information I needed to have allies and I needed it to be the people who served me.  I stepped out of my clothes and slid into bed, weary from the long day.  =========== “Mel?” I opened my eyes sleepily and saw golden eyes staring at me.  I jumped back the sheets falling off my naked body. “Oh I didn’t know you were here!” I said scrambling to cover myself. His eyes laughed at me and he gently pulled my hands away from the sheets letting them fall back down. His eyes trailed over my body and I felt heat rising in my blood. He moved closer to me the weight of his body on the bed making me sink closer to him. My pulse spiked as he placed his lips on my neck. A soft possessive gesture that made me moan softly into him. He pulled away his eyes heavy with lust. “Its time to go” “Go?” I asked feeling my thoughts slowly trying to assert themselves. The barest touch from him sent my mind spinning. The last thing I wanted was for him to break contact with me. The space felt large and lonely now.  “Those fools are waiting for you. Show them how strong you are now.” He pulled me from the bed and I was standing naked in front of him. He groaned softly as he looked at me. “I don’t want you to go, but it’s time.” I could see the strain of his c*** in his pants as he watched me. My hands itched to feel him. After all these dreams I still hadn’t even seen him. Wait dreams? I woke with a start. The room was dark. I felt frustration building inside of me. That man was beyond tempting and I needed to get off now! I touched myself and felt the wetness there. That man was doing things to me and I had no way to be satisfied until I felt him deep inside me. I continued to play with myself picturing his face again as he appraised me. The memory of the hunger on his face was all I needed and I moaned softly into my pillow.
