Chapter Twenty-SixNot for the first time since taking up residence in the Ixtrayu village, Davin wished he had a mirror handy. Or at least a hairbrush. He wasn't a high-maintenance guy, but the last few weeks had sucked the life out of his curly red hair. Without the ability to check his reflection in anything more technologically advanced than a pool of water, he assumed he looked like a ginger-haired sheepdog. He used the ladle to scoop some water out of his bedroom's basin, tipping it gently over his scalp and using his fingers to rake through his hair.
