Alpha Lucas's POV I glanced at my wristwatch and nodded. Darren was late. He was supposed to be here an hour ago, but here still waiting for him. I returned to my desk and peered at some of the papers scattered on the table. None held what I needed to know. There were figures, names and places that didn't ring a bell and were filled with useless information. I turned as the air changed. Darren was here. The door pushed open as he strode in, a blank look on his face. Pathetic. “You're late, Darren. We agreed on noon, and you promised to be on time.” “Something came up and I had to fix it before coming here.” “Does it have to do with the car I told you to keep track of?” He grunted, “No, I couldn't keep track with the car. They knew we were behind them and watching.”
