I tried to keep my tears in check as I walked towards him. My breath was shaky, and my nostrils kept dripping phlegm. The whole event with Alpha Lucas and Doc. Wen had affected me more than I thought. I tried to steady myself, but I kept wobbling until I stopped a breath away from Xavier. He seemed immersed in watching the babies, but I knew from his icy eyes, he was thinking about everything that had happened.
