“Aurora, we need to talk about everything that is going on,” I said, settling beside her. We had just eaten dinner, and she was playing with Jay.
“Can’t it wait till morning? I’m about to put them to sleep, and I’m exhausted.”
“It’s important and it can’t till morning. The house was razed to the ground. Not the entire part, though.” I replied carefully as her jaw dropped. “Louis and Collins are in the pack putting things in order, and I promised to be back tomorrow morning.”
“Did we lose anyone in the fire?”
“Yes, we did. It happened so quickly, and those who survived were the ones who left after I gave the order for everyone to exit the building.”
“Oh my God!” she exclaimed, dropping Jay in his crib. “Did anyone see who started the attack?”
