{Alessandro’s POV} We made it there in record time, and I made sure to send one of my best associates to deal with Xander. Now all we had to do was find the girl, and find out if she’s truly my sister. After ping a bit of research I couldn’t find much. She’s chronically offline, had been for over 10 years. I called around looking for her at some of the businesses in her town, finally getting lucky with finding her working at a small local owned library. We rented a car, and drove straight there, when we pulled into the parking lot, I could see the anxiety over my father’s face, he was terrified. “What is it dad?” I asked, looking over his face. “She doesn’t know who I am.. or about any of this.. what if she thinks someone else is her father.. what if we implode her life..” he groaned. “I don’t want to tear apart her family.. but if she is my daughter, then I have a blood child that I’ve never met, you have a blood sister that you’ve never known. She doesn’t know about us, her big family, we could be good for her.. she could be good for us.” He slung his head back against the seat. “Maybe it’s best if I don’t go in yet, maybe if you do this.. it’ll give her a bit more time to process, before meeting her she could get the blood test, so she doesn’t have to meet me for nothing if she isn’t my daughter.” I sighed, turning to my car door and opening it, stepping out and straightening my tie. “Fine, I’ll talk to her, but if the blood test comes back, then you’ll need to meet with her.” I said, slamming the car door and making my way inside. When I opened the door, a bell dinged over my head. I stepped in, smelling coffee, and books, as I looked behind the counter I could see a woman with short brown hair, tan skin, and brown eyes, she wore a white button up and a pair of oval framed glasses. She was taking a bite of a breakfast sandwich before noticing me. She quickly turned away, chewing it up, and chugging down some coffee before turning back to look at me. “Hello, welcome to ‘The Tale Terrace’ how can I help you?” She asked sweetly, batting her eyelashes at me. “Hello, I’m looking for someone, her name is Vera Monroe, you wouldn’t happen to know her would you?” I asked, smiling back and leaning against the counter. She chuckled, leaning back in her chair. “I might, but why are you looking for her?” “I’m a relative of hers, and there’s an issue with inheritance. Our great aunt passed away this morning, and I wanted to come break the news, and give her the envelope our great aunt left for her.” I said, quickly trying to think of something that wasn’t as crazy sounding as, ‘Yeah, she may be my half sister because my father fu**** about in this back water town.’ She nodded, seeming to understand before she looked over to the isle, my gaze followed hers and that’s when I saw her. She was prettier than the picture Xander’s associates had taken, smaller than I’d imagined. She moved a trolly around placing books back on their shelves. She woman beside me began waving over at her, and soon she was walking over to us. She carefully stepped up, making her way to my side. “Yeah?” Vera asked her, smiling softly. “This gentleman would like a private word with you.” She said. “Oh.. well, I suppose it would be okay to step into the side office.” She said, turning and beginning to walk away, I followed behind her, and as I walked into the office I closed the door behind me. “What do you need?” She asked, turning to look at me. “This is going to be hard to explain, and possibly hard to hear. If you’d like, it may be best if you sit.” I began, looking over her, she stood up straight, before crossing her arms. “Alright, my name is Alessandro Vanicci, and I think you may be my half sister.” She took a step back, leaning against the wall. “Excuse me?” She asked, looking up at me. “My father’s name is Antonio Vanicci, and he had a fling with your mother years ago.. we recently found out about you, and we wanted to make sure that it was the truth before we moved forward.” I said carefully, watching for any flicker of emotion. She didn’t look sad.. or upset.. if anything she just looked angry. “I knew something was up with that..” she muttered under her breath. “Okay, we’ll get a dna test at the hospital here in town to find out if you’re telling the truth..” she said, walking back to the door, she flung it open walking back out into the main room, and back behind the counter. She grabbed a purse and a coat tossing them around her before looking at the other woman. “Sorry Siranna, but I have to go, I need a mental health day for today. I’ll call you with some more information on the matter later.” She said, before opening the door and walking outside, I followed behind her and pointed to the car. “I could drive you, if you’d like.” I said softly. She shook her head, looking back over her shoulder. “The hospital is right down the road, I’ll walk. It’ll give me some time to think about what I’m going to do.. or say.” She sighed, turning away from me, and walking down the road. So this person was possibly my sister, I’ll admit, she did act kind of like me. Though the soft country accents throwing me a bit. I opened the door, getting back into the car and driving back towards where she walked off to. “Well..” my father said, his voice sounding more anxious than I was used to. I shrugged. “She acts like me.. has your eyes.. I’m not sure, but I think she may be your daughter.”
