"Chase?"

I was surprised to see him here. It's been three years since that incident happened. He was also surprised to see me.

"You two know each other?" Maggie asked while smiling.

Chase didn't respond.

"U-Uh yeah, he's one of my colleagues," I lied and smiled fakely.

What just happened?

"Oh, is that it? Babe, this is Kendra. And Kendra, this is Chase Martin, my fiancé." Maggie said.

"N-Nice to meet you," He greeted.

I'm out of words. I didn't know how to respond but really? Maggie's fiancé is Chase?

My ex-boyfriend? What a small world!

I smiled fakely again.

Damn it! There are so many men in the world, why did Maggie choose him?

He was a cheater back then!

"I'm sure you're starving, let's eat?" Maggie asked me.

"S-Sure,"

We started eating our course meal. The waiter then served the wine and Immediately drank it. I caught Chase staring at me but I didn't glance at him. I never thought I would see him again after so many years. The worst thing is that he is Maggie's boyfriend s***h fiancé.

And honestly, I don't care about him anymore because we broke up a long time ago, but I'm scared for Maggie.

Maggie was just talking about her life in the US and Chase was looking at her while smiling. I still can't believe she's Maggie's fiancé.

And they're getting married in October? What the hell!

Not that I'm saying I'm bitter but what if Chase cheated on her too? I don't want to hurt Maggie so maybe it's better if I keep quiet.

"As I was saying, there's a reason why we're here because our wedding will be held here, and you will design my gown!" she said excitedly.

I almost choke at my food because of what she said.

She wants me to design her gown?

"H-Huh?"

"Yes! I want you to design my gown Ken," she said and smiled.

I didn't know what to say. I wanted to say no but she's my best friend and I can't hurt her just because of Chase.

Chase was staring at me before I nodded. He thought I was going to say no but why would I?

"Sure,"

Maggie then clapped her hands like a little girl. I know she's happy, and I don't want to hurt her.

We continued talking until Maggie got a call from her Dad. Maggie said goodbye and I didn't even think twice to agree because I knew she was busy. Chase held her hand and they were smiling when they got out. I can't help but to breathe and relax my mind.

I can't believe it!

The next day, I decided to stay at home. It was a stressful day for me because of what happened yesterday. I can't still believe that Maggie is getting married to my ex-boyfriend but eventually I just ignored it. I cooked pasta at my condo and ate it. I watched movie and chilled for a bit.

While I was watching romance-comedy movie, my phone beeped.

Caryl:

Where are you? I'm sorry about happened last-last night. I got drunk and my mother grounded me *crying*

Me:

Wow! Finally, u texted me *shocked*

Caryl:

I have something to tell u *sob*

I rolled my eyes.

Me:

What is it?

Caryl:

I will go to your shop and I'll bring some foods!

My eyes winded. I'm not there you i***t! But anyway, I'm feeling bored in my own house. I wear my usual attire and black boots.

Minutes later, I arrived at my shop. I got out of my car and walked to my shop. I looked at the shop for a moment and my eyes widened when I saw that there was someone inside.

I quickly entered the shop and my jaw dropped when I saw Him cleaning my whole shop!

"Y-You! W-What are you doing here?" I asked tremblingly.

He turned to me and was surprised by my presence.

"You're here," he said with an amusement voice.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Cleaning?"

I rolled my eyes. "You're not my janitor!"

"Can I apply for a janitor then?" he playfully asked.

I almost rolled my eyes again.

This man!

"Seriously? What are you doing here?" I demanded.

He chuckled.

"Don't you remember you left me here?"

I know that, but I didn't mean it.

"T-That's because I don't want to disturb your sleep," I can't believe I'm stuttering!

Again!

"Really? And you left this note?" he asked again and showed the note I left him.

I was surprised he keep it. And wait, why would he keep it?

I didn't speak for a minute. He was staring at me like I committed a crime! For Pete's sake! Why am I shaking?

He chuckled. "Don't worry, It's okay. I'm just surprised you left me here,"

I pouted.

I've already told him my reason.

"And I feel like you trust me," he smirked.

"I don't trust you!" I defended myself.

"Really?"

His eyes narrowed and looked at me playfully. I can't believe I'm having this conversation with him!

God! Where is Caryl? Did she get abducted by the alien?

"You know, we've known each other for two days," he licked his lips.

"So?" I raised an eyebrow at him.

"I want to know your name," he huskily said.

"Why do you want to know my name?" I crossed my arms.

He chuckled.

"Then, should I call you baby instead?"

My eyes widened.

"W-What?"

I was speechless! This brute! Did he just tease me?

"You're corny,"

He barks a laughter.

"I'm just kidding, my name is Calyx." he said and handed me his hand.

So, his name is Calyx.

"Kendra," I shake his hand and boy, his hand was so rough and his veins are showing!

"Your hands are very soft,"

I quickly pull out and stared at my hand.

"Why are you cleaning my shop?" I asked him to divert the topic.

"Just a hobby. And I slept here already," he twisted his lips.

Yeah right, I left him here.

I nodded at him.

My phone suddenly beeped and saw Caryl calling. Thank goodness!

I immediately answered it.

"Hello? Where are you? I'm already here."

"Kendra!" she cried.

I frowned.

"What happened?"

"U-Uhm, I-I can't go today,"

I closed my eyes.

"You little witch!"

"I'm sorry Kendra, I'll make it up to you okay?" she assured me.

I sighed heavily.

"I hate you," I murmured.

She laughed. "Don't worry, I love you too!"

The call immediately went off. I rolled my eyes and turn around. I saw Calyx staring at my back and when he saw me, he acted like he was doing something!

What the hell?

I walked towards my chair, brushed my hair using my hand and started sketching the last part of my client's clothes.
