After Dad's birthday we went home. Mom and Dad were very happy because I brought Calyx and they talked for a while before we went home.

And gradually, the happiness I lost in the past came back to me.

I'm happy again.

A few weeks passed and Calyx visited me regularly. Sometimes he helps me in the shop to look after me. Good thing I have a TV so I just let him stay there while I sketched Maggie's gown.

It's almost done.

I yawned and stretched. I decided to stop for a while to rest. I peeked at Calyx who was now taking a nap. He was leaning on the backrest of the sofa with his eyes closed. I sat next to him and saw his hand crossed.

He had high cheekbones and a strong jawline. He's really handsome.

I will never get tired of looking at him.

"Done staring?"

My eyes widened.

I was about to leave his side when he pulled me back.

"You're faking your sleep,"

He chuckled.

"I sensed that someone was staring at me and had a crush on me."

I kicked him softly.

"You assume!"

He laughed at what I said. I bit my lip and couldn't help but smile too.

"You're done?" he asked.

I shook my head. "Just resting for a while,"

He nodded. "Are you hungry?"

I snorted and nodded.

He chuckled.

"I'll order food,"

He ordered food through Grab. I also set the table to put our food. When his order came, we ate. He ordered a lot. I just ate and stopped when I saw him staring.

"Why did you stop?" he asked smiling.

"I'm full,"

"Eat more," he said.

I shook my head.

"Later," I said.

"Are you sure?"

I nodded.

He smiled and took a tissue. I was surprised when he wiped the side of my lips.

"There's a ketchup,"

I snorted.

I put away what we ate and cleaned the table. Calyx protested to wash the dishes but it was too late when I washed them.

He just snorted while looking at me.

I smiled sweetly at him.

"Are you going to continue sketching?" he asked when he saw me finish washing.

I nodded.

"Can I watch?"

"Of course,"

He smiled.

Weeks had passed, I called Maggie and told her that I had finished the gown that she had me sketch. She was so excited then she invited me to their house.

I asked Calyx to come with me. After work, he agreed to follow, so I went to Maggie's place first.

"Oh my god! Thank you so much Kendra! This is so amazing!" Maggie said happily.

"You're welcome," I smiled at her.

"Where's Calyx?" she asked.

"He's still working but he'll come," I said.

"Okay! Let's have a barbeque party later. My maids are still preparing," she giggled.

I nodded and smiled. We went straight to their backyard and saw his maids preparing.

"Wait here, Dad is calling."

"Take your time," I smiled.

I entered their house because I was thirsty. I asked one maid where to get water.

"I'll get you one ma'am,"

"Thank you," I smiled.

I waited there for a while and looked around. I saw Chase enter the kitchen and we stared each other. The maid gave me water so I drank it immediately and walked away from there.

"Can we talk?"

I jumped in shock when I heard Chase's voice behind me.

I didn't say a word and was about to leave when he tried to held my hand.

My eyes narrowed at his hand.

"I'm sorry but can we talk Kendra? Just for a moment,"

I sighed in disbelief.

"What do you want Chase?" I asked irritated.

He sighed.

"I just want to apologize to you, for what happened in-"

"Past is past Chase, I've moved on." I said coldly.

He looked away.

"I know, you have a boyfriend now,"

I looked at him irritated.

"I just really want to apologize for what happened before. I didn't mean it. That was a mistake. And I'm sorry," his voice broke.

"I forgive you," I said.

He looked up at me and his mouth fell open.

"Just don't hurt Maggie. Don't treat her the way you treated me in the past. And let's keep being a stranger."

I started to walk away but he spoke again.

"Be careful with Calyx,"

I looked at him.

"What did you say?"

"You don't know him," he said.

I gritted my teeth.

"I don't need your opinion," I rolled my eyes and turned around but stopped when I saw Calyx standing.

"Calyx," I whispered.

He glared at Chase who was behind me.

"Are you spreading fake news about me brother?" Calyx said coldly.

I froze at his words.

Brother?

Chase tsked and left us.

I swallowed hard and looked at Calyx.

"Are you okay?" he asked as he came closer to me.

"Brother?" I stammered.

He sighed heavily and nodded.

I gasped. What the hell?

Chase was right, I don't know him. I don't know anything about him. My chest heaved and slowly retreated.

Suddenly I thought of our meeting at the bar before. Is that why he was looking at me then because he already knows me?

And why didn't I know Chase had a brother before?

"Can you tell me what you're thinking?" he gently asked and held my hand.

I felt a pain in my chest when I thought about it all.

What if he's just playing with me?

"Baby..." he caressed my cheeks.

I closed my eyes.

"Please tell me what you're thinking," he whispered.

I sighed and calmed my mind.

Before I judge him, I will listen to his reason.

"Have you known me before?" I asked bitterly.

He shook his head.

I closed my fist.

"How is that possible? You're siblings!" I said trembling.

"Baby..."

"Did you plan this? You and Chase? To play with me?" I raised my voice and he gently caressed my other hand.

"Don't shout baby... We can't talk properly if you shout,"

I kicked his foot but he moved.

"Trust me, when I saw you at the bar I was mesmerized by your beauty." he gently said.

I didn't talk.

"You are the most beautiful woman I have ever met,"

I almost rolled my eyes because of what he said.

"Corny,"

He chuckled at what I said.

"I didn't know you before, I didn't even know you were my brother's girlfriend. Believe me, I don't know you."

I looked away.

"If I had known that you were my brother's ex-girlfriend, I wouldn't have pursued it,"

I swallowed and felt a pain in my chest.

"But I can't help myself when it comes to you,"

I gasped when he slowly kissed my lips. It was a foreign feeling. And his kiss makes me dizzy.

"I'm madly in love with you." he whispered and kissed me again.
