Chapter 26: Visiting TimeA short time later, Cody was outside the door of Elvira’s guest bathroom, looking at the baby chicks with Deena and Gage.
“The chicks have already gotten so big,” Cody said.
“That’s because we give them lots of food and water,” Gage said.
“We even help Auntie Elvira put sheets on the floor in the hallway so the babies can have play time outside their containers,” Deena said. “They love to play, and give us a hard time when we have to put them back in the plastic tubs.”
“Okay, y’all,” Elvira said from the living room, “let the babies rest and come visit with me and your Uncle Jace.
The kids and Cody happily went into the living room, and Deena ran up to Jace.
