Dean looked at his hands, they were shaking, It was his twenty first birthday and it meant a number of different things to him. Today was the day he would take the alpha position from his father. It was destined to be, from the day he was born, and he trained his whole life for the position and was more than prepared.      He was after all the strongest wolf in the country, maybe even the strongest in the world, at least ranking in the top five list. His kill list was indeed larger than any other wolf though, and that was for certain. He was a monster, this was nothing new.      Every wolf alive feared him and it felt good every time he took a bite out of his enemies throat and watched the blood seep into the ground, knowing that he caused it to happen and was more than capable of killing any rogue that entered his land.     Although that wasn't why his hands were shaking, he could sense it. That feeling of a bond slowly being permeated into his brain and soul. It was impossible though, we were in the middle of killing off the last few rogues who decided to try and enter the pack land, but of course they were sorely mistaken when they all got their throats ripped out before even entered the pack house border line.      This meant there was no treaty taking place, no bonds being formed within the pack or outside of it, but this feeling he knew he wasn't mistaking. He must find the source of this bond, his wolf was growling and the rumbling in his chest escaped as he howled toward the moon.     "Alpha, that was the last of the rogues, we lost one who retreated to the south border before we could catch him. I have two warriors tracking his scent as we speak to see where they have run off to, and track this pack."     Even though I hadn't taken the Alpha position, the whole pact respected me and treated me as such. After all, I had taken the Alpha duties a year ago with the supervision of my father which never happened, since it was never needed. I was the Alpha, and I was the strongest for a long time. My father deserved the respect though. He was once the strongest wolf of all the packs until I turned eighteen and my full wolf powers were unleashed. That was also the day I made my first kill and revealed to the world that I was not a wolf to take a chance on, I was to be feared and followed.      I look over at Emmett, my Beta. He also took his Beta position a year ago after his father announced he would pass the position to his strongest and eldest son. Despite popular belief, only being the son of the Alpha or Beta does not always guarantee the position. You also had to be a strong and feared leader who was respected by his pack.     Emmett had only a few bruises and tears that had broke his skin, but it would heal shortly, wolf cells replenish much faster than human cells do. Although a look of concern crushed his eyebrows together as he could tell something was bothering me. I had also turned off my mind link from the pack so they couldn't see my vulnerability.     "We need to go."     His face looked more confused, but he does not question the authority and power in my voice. "Where should I tell the guards and drivers to head to?"     My face fell for a brief minute, because I realized that I didn't know the answer to the question, I needed to let my wolf take over and find this bond before I couldn't taken it any longer. It was strange because not even the bond to my own mother felt this way, something was different, but I couldn't let the pack know.     This was a weakness, whatever was going on with my wolf needed to be addressed quickly before the next attack. I needed to have my focus back and keep my strength and power on high alert. I must rid myself of this weak link immediately.     "No driver, we shift tonight and we hunt."     His face shows even more confusion at the short sentence, this was strange for him. It wasn't even our hunting day so he knew something was wrong, but didn't want to let the thought escape even though I could read through it and knew he has worry in his heart for his Alpha. It was only natural for the Beta to be so connected, which is why we've been best friends since younglings. It was always destined for us to be Alpha and Beta together.     "But what about the ceremony? Our fathers might be a bit pissed when the two stars of the show are missing."     It was the night that I excepted the Alpha title along with Emmett taking the Beta title, but that didn't concern me at the moment.     "It will be postponed, let the pack know and grab Jax, Riley, and Pru. We will only take the three, I can't leave the rest of the pack with no protection. I don't know how long this will take to find this prey."      He nodded his head in agreement, but his face still leaked confusion and worry for his Alpha, "Alpha, no disrespect, but I know this isn't a rogue we are hunting is it?"     I sighed and shook my head, but I couldn't let any sign of weakness show, my wolf wouldn't allow me to, he just wanted to shift and run as fast as possibly to find this link, but I couldn't understand the happiness he felt, why was there no worry of this weakness that I feared?      "We will find out when we get closer to the source."     He nodded his head and pretended to understand, but I knew he was just confused as I was, but nothing mattered in this second. I opened the mind link and felt my four warriors coming closer and I couldn't wait any longer, I feel my bones crack and my black fur erupt from my inner being, my eyes turn black as I focus in on this link. It was soft, I could almost smell it from here and every inch of my wolf being urged me towards it.      My feet pounded the trails as my warriors follow me in tight pursuit, we reach the edge of the border of the Black Moon pack, my pack. I let out a loud howl to the moon as those with me howled along, we were ready for this hunt. Where are you?
