Fae Bonds and Demonic Attacks

1578 Words
That night Casimir did not really sleep. He sat near the fire in the great hall going over everything which had happened. Though he was upset with Duke, he was happy he was still alive, and he was happy to have him nearby. They had never really been close, but now maybe that could be different since that was all they had now. Well, not really. They had Jack, Matilda, and Audrey. They also had Abigail, and maybe even some of the fae, but what were they going to do? That demon was free and possibly terrorizing the town of Dayton, they could not delay they needed to do something! He balled up his fists. King Avery spoke from behind. “Frustrating not being able to do anything yet isn’t it?” “Oh uh, your highness.” Casimir did not know whether to stand or kneel. He had never dealt with a royalty of any sort before, let alone a fae. And King Avery just laughed at him for his confused look. He motioned him to follow, and curiously Cas did so. He fell behind the king, who motioned him forward to his side. “Casimir, I don’t know if you know this, but I like you a lot. You are real, very very real, and you are a lot like me.” The king led him to his private chambers and Casimir was beginning to get nervous. What did the king have in mind exactly? They walked in and it was like a museum. Pictures and paintings, the art of all sizes and shapes, and there on the desk was a picture of a boy and his parents. A scar on his left cheek. Casimir looked up in shock. “I was born on Earth too you see. And I came here in much the same way you did. I however had a huge destiny before me. It is not like you do not, but are you happy with this destiny? Do you really want to go back to Earth and face battles you did not pick?” Casimir looked down. He fumbled with his shirt for a moment and then he looked up with tears in his eyes. The king nodded. “I thought as much. They have taken almost everything from you, and the only way to regain your power is if you stand up to them, just like any bully, but remember Casimir, this bully can back up their every threat.” Avery poured Casimir a glass of blue glowing liquid. Casimir looked at it suspiciously. The king giggled. “I am not going to poison you, it's Fae Wine, it's magical, and it glows. Take a sip.” Casimir did as he was told. The liquid was alcoholic for sure, but it turned almost into a fine mist on his tongue, and it was a sweet berryish flavor, but unlike anything he had ever tasted before. Casimir instantly blushed as the king laid his hand on top of Cas’s. “Casimir, do you believe in love at first sight?” “Yes, yes I do.” “Good, because that is what has happened here.” The king stood up and began to pace. “As soon as I laid eyes on you, I knew you were special, and Abigail had already told us what had happened, and you were just so, innocent, pure, not like the people here trying to gain my affections. You were just you.” Casimir blushed again. He spoke this time. “I might strike you as pure because, well, I sort of have never… you know… been with anyone.” King Avery looked at him in surprise. Sure, he had been once trapped in the body of a 13-year-old which would never have been a good idea for s*x. However, before that, he had been a human adult male, and despite this, he had never been touched? That was awesome! So many people treated s*x as a mere pastime when really it was a merging of so much more than bodies, it was a linking of souls, a joining of hearts. Even when it really meant nothing a soul tie was always formed, and things unsavory could be passed spiritually back and forth between them. Avery sat next to Casimir; his plans were ruined. He could not make love to the boy now, he was a bloody virgin, and if the boy were going to marry him, he had to remain a virgin until the marriage. Casimir noticed the consternation on Avery’s face. “Is it bad I am a virgin?” “No, not at all. What it means is, you are spiritually pure. You are protected in a way that very few people are, and I am not willing to mess that up just because I am a wee bit horny.” Casimir was really blushing now. “So, you have never ejaculated because of another person’s actions?” “No.” “Wow, that’s so impressive. Humans are not the sort to hold back, and even though we fae are the last to think of s*x as taboo, we do not take it lightly when someone has held themselves to the standard of being spiritually pure. You did this because of the beliefs you held as a Christian. Even though you have changed your beliefs, or perhaps had to add to them, you held strong to your convictions, and you followed the path laid before you. That is admirable and requires a lot of strength, you should be proud.” Casimir now was less blushing and not sure what to do with the praise. He leaned in for a sudden kiss, which did take the king by surprise. Their tongues meeting as their mouths did. It was like swimming in a warm breeze. Casimir had never even done this, not with a man and not with a woman. He had been expected to be with women because of his Christian beliefs, but here the kind king was making out with him in front of a fire. How was this even possible? That was when someone behind them cleared their throats. “Wha? What is it!?” Avery was highly annoyed, and Casimir was just in shock. “Majesty, we have received word that the western kingdoms are under attack by demons. What would you have us to do?” Avery leaped to his feet as did Casimir. “Summon the war council at once. Casimir, you are with me. Wake Abigail and the others, this is no coincidence.” Cas followed the king back into the room they had all met in before. Moments later everyone still in the bed robes joined them in the council chambers. Everyone looked as though they had been deep in sleep and were somewhat annoyed by what was happening. Abigail lit a cigar. “Well, this had better be good, I don’t look this way without my beauty sleep.” Eyes around the room rolled. This lady was a firecracker, and she took no s**t from anyone. She kept eyeing the king and Casimir like she knew they had a thing going. That was because she did know. She knew as soon as she told the king that the plight of the young man in her charge intrigued him. Then upon their meeting, she was sure of it. He had Fae bonded with Casimir almost immediately. Fae beings are much like humans in many ways, but one way they are not like humans is the Fae Bond. Sometimes they would Fae Bond, it was like love at first sight, only more powerful. Fae was not like humans, once they bonded with someone it was them for life. Cheating being unfaithful had different boundaries but being unfaithful was so foreign to them they could not imagine doing it. Yes, Casimir was Fae Bonded to the king, this certainly would complicate things. King Avery stood up and spoke. “Demons have attacked the western kingdoms, and we must respond. However, this is not a coincidence, and they may be distracting us from something else. I will get my soothsayers on that while troops are dispatched to the western kingdoms. Have any of you had dreams or premonitions?” That was the real issue, none of them had. Surely a group of witches like this would have one psychic dream among them, but it was like someone was blocking them. Casimir would not have known this was weird, but having the gift of sight himself, he did not know that it was supposed to instinctively warn him of danger. That it was more than a gut feeling, it was something that could be honed and turned into a powerful instrument. “I want each of you witches to head a garrison. However, Casimir will be with me and my garrison. We will meet these demons head-on, and we will show that we are not going to be bullied by some supernatural jackasses.” Casimir nodded. The rest did too and within a few hours, they were armored, armed, and had a garrison of troops under their command each. What amazed Casimir was they knew what they were doing! How many times had his brother fought battles like this? He just could not fathom it.
