Alex’s pov The conference room was finally empty, but I hadn’t moved from my seat. The air still carried the stench of betrayal and expensive cologne. Victor sat at the other end of the table, his legs crossed, his fingers pressed together like a man who believed he had just won a game. The other board members had all left leaving behind the faint echo of their nervous whispers. The whole thing had been a circus. A carefully staged ambush under the disguise of a board meeting.
