*Chapter 16: The Final Fight* Dubai. Abandoned warehouse. Midnight. Rain. Guns. And her. Selena stood on a crate, 10 men around her. “Welcome, brother. And sister.” Alessandro walked first. Me behind him, pistol in hand. Shaking, but steady. “You should have stayed a contract girl,” Selena said. “Now you die like one.” “Talk less,” Alessandro said. “Shoot more.” Bullets flew. I hid behind a car. My heart was loud. “Aim. Breathe. Shoot,” Alessandro’s voice was in my head. Bang. One of her men fell. “Good girl,” he said, without looking. Selena screamed. “Kill her first!” Two men ran at me. I panicked. Pulled the trigger. Bang. Bang. Both down. I stared at my hands. Blood on them. Not mine. Alessandro reached Selena. “It ends here.” “You can’t kill family,” she cried. “You tried to kill my wife,” he said. “That’s worse than family.” He raised his gun. “Wait!” she begged. “I’m sorry!” Alessandro looked at me. “Your call, Mrs. Moretti.” Everyone looked at me. The contract girl. I walked forward. Gun steady now. “You made me scared,” I said. “You made me fight. You made me his.” I lowered my gun. “I’m not you, Selena. I don’t kill for power.” Alessandro’s eyes changed. Proud. “Take her,” he told his men. “Jail. Forever.” Selena was dragged away, screaming my name. It was over. Alessandro came to me. Took my gun. Kissed my forehead. “You chose mercy,” he said. “That’s why you’re my queen.” We walked out of the warehouse as the sun rose. No contract. No fear. Just us. That night, back in Karachi, he gave me something. Not a ring. A tattoo. A small black crown, on my wrist. “Moretti family,” he said. “Forever.” I was no longer a contract wife. I was untouchable.
