Sam Rose woke slowly, turned his head, and looked at the woman sleeping next to him. He watched as her chest rose, and fell, rhythmically, the bed sheet just covering the gentle swell of her breasts. Her hair, long, and blonde, splayed haphazardly across the pillow, and one wisp fell across her cheek. The fine, light tip waved almost unperceptively as she softly exhaled. There were only two occasions in Rose’s life where he had grown more than fond of a particular woman, and Sarah Collins, sleeping peacefully beside him, was one of them.
